Crawley III

“Ugh!”

Max can only let out a groan as his body is immobilized.

“Hahaha. Look at you now. You just received two attacks from me, and you’re already in this condition. I think we shouldn’t prolong this battle. Let me deliver the finishing attack.”

Crawley is going to unleash his big move as his right hand is completely covered with lightning. To the point that Max couldn’t see his hand anymore and can only see the lightning which dances around Crawley’s hand.

From their previous exchange, Max can roughly gauge Crawley’s level. Strength C, Speed B, Sensitivity C, Energy B. As expected from a lightning element, it boasted a higher speed than usual. It seemed that Crawley’s energy is relatively abundant as he unleashes moves one after another without looking tired.

Max can feel the danger coming from the moves that Crawley is going to unleash next. However, the deadliness of the lightning element that Max experienced so far comes from the numb feeling that comes after being electrified.

If Max got hit by the next attack that Crawley is building up, he is sure that he will be dead. It wasn’t because of the penetrating or destructive power of the lightning but due to the fact that it is able to mess up with his own bodily organ.

Like an automated external defibrillator that can resuscitate a heart that has been stopped, a large amount of electricity might make the heart stop due to the shock. Not to mention it could even burn the brain cells since the brain is one of the most active parts of the human body that uses electricity.

However, this move of Crawley seemed to be a close-range attack since he is now approaching Max who is immobilized.

“Any last word?”

Max is now thinking about escaping from this situation as if he didn’t do anything; he will be killed. Only now he knows why Crawley is so confident in himself. Just when Crawley is a few steps away from him, Max can feel that he could move his body again.

Max didn’t believe that his natural defense is that strong. He suddenly realizes that it must be thanks to the costume that Kalina gave him. It is to be noted that the costume is made using special materials and naturally has excellent defense properties.

Now, looking at Crawley, he doesn’t seem to realize that Max has gotten rid of the numb feeling. Max needs to strike back when he got the chance. Without wasting any breath, Max executes the move that he does best, the wind bullet.

It isn’t Max's most powerful move but right now it is one which he could summon and release the fastest due to the number of training he has done. However, as Crawley is still approaching nearer with lightning on his right hand and Thea on his left, Max is being meticulous.

He doesn’t want Thea to be a victim due to being implicated in the battle. Max gathered the wind bullet at the palm of his hand that is blocked by his fist from Crawley’s perspective.

“Goodbye, boy. You should know that you’re not half-bad.”

Crawley's right hand is pulled back before it sets towards Max’s chest, aiming for the heart. Who would have thought that at this moment, Max's hand that Crawley thought to be immobilized suddenly stretched forward faster than his? Bringing a gust of wind as the wind bullet heading straight towards Crawley’s head.

Max was going to aim at Crawley’s body, but Thea is still in his arm, and if he dodged and it hit Thea instead, Max would be devastated as Thea will surely die from it. That is why although the head is smaller to target, it is a much safer choice.

Crawley is surprised, but he still managed to react to the attack. After all, there’s a reason why he can roam around freely as a villain. He is not just an empty shell without actual ability.

The lightning that is covering Crawley’s right hand suddenly moved. It was like the lightning crawled from his right hand towards the face like a living creature. If it were even a millisecond later, Max’s bullet would indeed create a hole in Crawley’s head.

However, the lightning managed to arrive on time and blocked the wind bullet that Max unleashed and saved Crawley’s life. Crawley looked very sinister right now, with half of his face covered in lightning that managed to block the wind bullet until it dissipates in the air.

“Good, very good! It seemed that you have some backbone and courage to try to kill me. I won’t be nice again to you. If it’s a fight you’re looking for, I’ll give you bloodbath.”

Crawley tosses Thea to the side, and Max is relieved to see that she landed in a pile of garbage bags that seemed to protect her body from harm. Right now, Max can entirely focus on fighting with Crawley without caring about Thea, but the same thing can be said for Crawley.

Crawley roared out loud, and as if Max could hear the sound of thunder, a lightning flashes by from the sky, and it landed on Crawley’s body. However, Crawley doesn’t seem to be struck to death by it, and his body is entirely covered by lightning now.

“It’s been a while since I do this. It seemed that my body is getting old.”

Along with a crackling sound, Crawley stretches his neck. Finally, he looked at Max and leisurely asked: “Boy, are you ready for round two?”

Max is on high alert right now. The ability that is shown by Crawley is extraordinary. Max can feel that Crawley’s overall ability has been dramatically strengthened. If earlier all of his parameter is a mixture of B and C, right now, all of it has reached B-rank, and this is the reason why no C-rank hero has been able to subdue him.
