“Mom, look at that! Mighty Red, Captain Green, and Glorious Blue are coming out!”

“I know. I can see it clearly from here. There’s your favorite Captain Green.”

“Yes, I love how his hair looks. That broccoli style, isn’t it wonderful?”

“So, Max, do you want to become a hero?”

“Of course! I want to become a hero when I grow up.”

“Oh, why?”

“So, I can save you and Dad if you’re in danger. I can also help you with the household chores like washing the dishes, changing the lightbulb since I am a hero!”

Max’s mother smiled at her son’s remark, and then the scene ended as it returned to the present where Max is still staring at the ceiling.

“That sure brings back memories. So, for the sake of my Mom and Dad, I will become the brightest hero ever so that they will be proud of me.”

After that, the process of Max's recovery went by. Days passed by as his bones cracked and needed time to be mended. If it wasn’t for the advanced medical technology of the United Heroes association, he might take years to recover.

Every day, Thea comes by to check on his progress as promised. On the days she needs to go to school, she will come by in the evening. One day, she comes with a serious face as she greeted Max.

“Big brother, Air. One of my friend’s Papa also went to heaven. After talking for some time, I finally realized what happened to my Papa. Big brother, my Papa won’t come back, isn’t he?”

Max didn’t know what to do, so he can only nod at her. After that, Thea cried out loud, and Max can only pat her head in silence. At this moment, Max thinks that it is for the best for Thea to let out all of the feelings inside her heart by crying.

After a while, she seemed to have calmed down and stopped crying. Finally, she turned her open palm into a fist as if she has made her resolve.

“Don’t worry, big brother, Air. I won’t cry anymore. From now on, I will be smiling as I don’t want Papa to be sad seeing me crying. I’ve told you before, haven’t I? Papa said that I’m very pretty when I smile, so I want him always to see me at my prettiest moment if he looked at me from heaven.”

Max also smiled at Thea’s remark. He even thought inwardly to himself, was he that mature when he is at Thea’s age?

Days passed by and turn to week. A week into months, and finally, after three months recovering on top of the hospital bed, he is discharged today.

“Max, have you finished packing your things up?”

Looking back at the familiar room that has become his house for the past three months, Max feels some lingering emotions. Here, he learned many lessons about being a hero. He learned about his recklessness and mistakes and what it means to become a hero and bring a smile to people.

“Yes, big sister Kalina. I’m ready to leave anytime.”

“Okay. Let’s put your things back at your apartment and directly hit the gym.”

“Eh, we’re going to the gym already? I’ve just been discharged, you know.”

“What nonsense are you spouting. You’ve gone through rehabilitation, and now your body is functioning properly again. Not to mention that staying on the bed for so long affected your muscle. We need to get you back in your shape again if you want to return to be a hero.”

“Well, if that’s what I have to do to be active as a hero again, I will do it.”

“You know, you’re kind of amazing. You’re the first person to be taking an extended break after being a hero for two days.”

“Big sis, don’t tease me like that.”

“Haha. Okay, I won’t tease you again. Anyway, I’ve promised to tell you about hero teams before so let’s go through it later when we’re training.”

“I’m curious about this thing. You’re keeping your mouth mum about it even in the hospital.”

“Oh, right. Before we hit the gym, there’s a place that we need to stop by first. Let’s see. Now it’s 10 o’clock. I believe we can arrive there at lunchtime. Great. We’ll have our lunch there.”

Max and Kalina then continued with their itinerary and arrived in front of a five-story building. This is the place that Kalina said she wants to bring Max to. Max read the sign in front of the building, and it says ‘Rising Star Agency’.

“Big sis, is this the place where you want to show me?”

“Yes. This is the place.”

“Rising Star Agency. Are you perhaps going to sell me? don’t tell me you couldn’t get your investment back on me and decided to sell me to another agency!”

After that, Kalina takes out her phone and makes a call.

“Hi, it’s me. Yes, I’m already in front of the building. Come and pick me up.”

Not long after Kalina closed down the call, a girly figure can be seen coming out from the Rising Star Agency entrance. Somehow, the silhouette is familiar but unfamiliar at the same time for Max.

“Teacher, you’re finally here.”

The girl greeted Kalina, and Max is speechless to see her. Now looking at her up close, Max realizes who this person is in front of him.

“Yuna?”

“Hi Max, we meet again. To be honest, I’m a little bit surprised to see you becoming a hero.”

“Hey, don’t spout out lies like that. You’ve been asking about Max every time you make a call to me.”

“Teacher! Max, that was a lie. I definitely didn’t ask about you every time.”

Seeing Yuna again is a surprise for Max. However, what left him stunned the most is her appearance.

They say that a girl will change sixteen times during the process of growing up, and Max finally witnessing it with his own eye.

Suppose the past Yuna can be said to be ‘cute’, the present her can be described as gorgeous. Straight hair that is bob cut fits her face perfectly. There is no more childish trace on her face and replaced with elegant yet pure features at the same time. Not to mention that she has grown taller and she definitely gained weight in the right place as her body has nice curves.

Looking at Max, current appearance that seemed like a fool, Kalina and Yuna looked at each other and laughed simultaneously.

“Hahaha. It looks like Max needs to return to the hospital again after being discharged. He seemed to suffer some damage inside his brain still.”

“That’s right, teacher, let’s leave him here for the emergency team to pick up, and you can have lunch with me.”

“Sounds like a good plan.”

Kalina and Yuna walked towards the Rising Star Agency building, and only then Max regained his mind.

The laughter of the girls can be heard around the area as they headed inside.
