Max’s sneak attack plan consists of three phases. The first phase is luring Bonio to climb the stairs, and it is going smoothly right now. As Bonio climbed up the stairs, suddenly he heard something crashing behind him, and naturally, he turned his body.
This is the second phase in Max’s plan, and it is another success. As earlier, Max climbed up the stairs and picked up a flowerpot, he is using the wind to hold the flower pot above the stairs, and the moment Bonio is halfway up, he dropped the flower pot. The second phase is to make Bonio turned his body facing the first floor once again.
This is the moment Max is waiting for, the third phase of his plan, and the moment he will launch his sneak attack. As Bonio turned his body, Max is unleashing all of the power he could muster to create the wind bullet.
This is the most crucial step of Max’s plan. Since Bonio has a wind-based superpower just like him, he needs to make sure that Bonio won’t have time to respond to his sneak attack. Max concludes that he doesn’t need to control the wind bullet perfectly but instead focused on letting it formed as fast as possible.
During his training with the wind bullet, he did a lot of training not only just controlling the wind bullet to be formed perfectly, but he also did some variations such as trying to get it formed as fast as possible. After all, no enemy will wait for you for minutes to get your finishing move ready.
The fastest that Max managed to crate his wind bullet is even under one second, but he can’t control it other than the trajectory, and it was only roughly. By deciding the location of the sneak attack to be on the stairway, Max thinks that he doesn’t really need to control his attack trajectory as the space is narrow and so much space for him to direct his attack.
In under a second, the wind bullet has been formed at the tips of Max’s finger. He is looking at Bonio that is still facing downwards, and then launched the wind bullet he produced. The control isn’t perfect, but it is flying towards Bonio perfectly.
Max is naïve, thinking that his sneak attack will land on Bonio. Even though it will land, there’s something called a difference in rank. Max couldn’t even be considered to be D rank as he never learned the basics of controlling his power correctly. As for Bonio, his power is near that of A rank. Three different ranks are almost like an insurmountable wall.
Sensing some abnormal movement of air from behind him, Bonio turned his body. As soon as he turned his body, what welcomed him is a wind bullet heading straight to his face. This is where the difference in ranks comes up. In only a fraction of seconds, Bonio managed to raise a wind barrier in front of him to protect himself.
*bam*
A mini explosion caused by the meeting of two clashing wind occurred as Max is now pushed back, and so do Bonio. Although the difference in power is there, the sudden sneak attack isn’t utterly useless as it managed to catch Bonio off guard.
The shockwave from the wind explosion sends Max to the second floor and Bonio back to the first floor. Max recovered faster since he is further from the center of the wind explosion. After that, he quickly tried to find another way to fight back. But, first, he needs to get away from Bonio and think of another plan.
“Haha, what a surprise. I thought at first that you are a powerless boy. Who knows that you suddenly able to launch a surprise wind attack at me? However, your luck is horrible, boy. Firstly, you are with the girl this morning. If not, you won’t be in this predicament right now. Secondly, the enemy that you are facing is me, as we have the same wind-based superpower, the one with the higher rank mostly will win the fight. Not to mention your power can’t even be considered as a D-rank. Why don’t you surrender, and I won’t make it hard for you? I believe you already run out of power since I can feel that earlier attack used up all of your energy.”
Max now hides on the second floor, but he knows that he couldn’t stay hidden long since the second floor is only so big. He will be found sooner or later. His brain is now thinking very fast about what he should do to survive. His biggest weapon, the wind bullet, proven to be useless in front of Bonio.
“Since a ranged attack isn’t possible, should I try for a melee attack?”
Max looked around him, but there’s no suitable weapon to use. It is not like his untrained physique as a fifteen years old boy could overpower Bonio either. Bonio is creeping closer in his direction, and he is now starting to get panic since next year, on this date, it could be his death’s anniversary.

Back again to where Yuna and Yann are now standing across each other, Yuna prepared to fight against Yann no matter how slight her chance is.
“Oh, it seemed that you haven’t given up yet?”
“There’s no surrender in my dictionary.”
Both of Yuna’s arms suddenly being covered in fire. Yann can feel the temperature is rising and the air becoming a little bit drier.
“Oh, no wonder the people called you fiery fairy. Looking at your form right now, it is indeed captivating yet ferocious at the same time. If I am at the same rank as you, I believe you will easily overpower me. Too bad my power is in a much higher rank than yours and more than one rank.”
Yuna knows what Yann is saying is true. Yuna had never lost to any water-based heroes at her level when she sparred with them. All of the water that is directed at her immediately evaporated due to her fire. Facing someone a rank higher than her, Yuna has a forty percent chance of beating them using a particular move. However, two ranks higher, the chance is almost close to zero, and against Yann in front of him, she has absolutely no way of winning if we’re talking about the chance above paper.
