Olympics Opening

Three days passed in a blink of an eye, and finally, the day of the Heroes’ Olympics started. The opening ceremony hasn’t even started, but people already filled the stadium in district seven. Some fireworks have been fired on the sky, making the atmosphere merry and full of spirit.

Arriving at the stadium, Max can see four different lines. From afar, he can see the banner on top of each line. The first one is for regular citizens and viewers of the competition. The second line is for participants, and the third line is for newbie heroes that just got their license this year. As for the last line, it was for the supports to register the support competition.

He can see that the first and second line is where most people line up with the third line having fewer people. So, without hesitation, he lined up on the third line as he is going to participate in the contest.

The registration process is done very fast since each line has twenty personnel from the United Heroes association to help with the process. It didn’t even take five minutes for one person to register, which means per minute on average, 240 people can be processed on each line.

The long line quickly dwindled down into smaller numbers, and it was Max's turn to register.

“Hi, I’m here to register for the newbie competition.”

“Okay, may I see your hero license?”

Max handed over his hero license, and it was then scanned into a machine.

“Alright, the process is finished. Here’s your number. You can get inside the stadium and wait until the opening ceremony to finish before proceeding.”

Max walked through the corridor and entered the stadium. In there, a lot of people have seated down and discussing among themselves. So Max finds a place for him and sits down. Inside the stadium, Max’s costume didn’t even feel out of place or attracting any attention at all since everyone else is wearing the same outfit as him.

After waiting for half an hour, it seemed that the stadium had been filled and the entrance ceremony is going to commence.

*bang bang bang*

Colorful fireworks are fired on the sky, and immediately people cheered.

“Hello everyone! Are you ready for some excitement? Make some noise!”

Appearing on top of the stage in the middle of the stadium is a busty figure with a skin-tight costume. The crowd goes wild as the sexy woman on top of the stage makes a turn and winked at the camera.

Max is familiar with the figure as she is someone he has seen before.

“It’s me again! Your favorite sexy and cute Elrisa!”

“Waaaaah!”

The people cheered and clapped wildly as she introduced herself. Along with her introduction, bubbles filled the stadium and popped one by one. It is Elrisa’s ability, and people enjoyed it.

“Today, we will have the heroes’ Olympics. So let’s proceed with the opening!”

From the left side of the stadium, Max could see fire ability heroes doing fire attractions. On the right side, tidal water comes flooding the area as water ability heroes surfed on top of the wave.

While Max is still amazed by the fire and water display, wind elemental heroes jumped down from the sky. Carrying with them colorful ribbons and makes the scene very jolly. After that, a long parade with heroes with unique abilities comes out in sports uniforms.

Cheerful music and dazzling performances displayed one after another. Giving people no time to rest, and not long after, Elrisa has gone from the stage, and the spotlight is pointing to an entrance. From the entrance, a mighty figure comes out, and everyone yells out one name in unison.

“Mighty Red! Mighty Red!”

Wearing a formal suit, Mighty Red comes on top of the stage while waving to the spectators. After he walked to the stage, everyone falls into silence as they give Mighty Red the opportunity to make his speech.

“Hello, everyone. Dear heroes’ Olympics fans around the world. This is the moment that we have been waiting for. For participating heroes, this will be the chance to show your ability to the world. Over the next few days, the world will be looking to you for inspiration. I hope you all can compete with the highest spirit of excellence, respect, and fair play. So let the competition begin, and the tale of your glory starts now!”

Earth elemental heroes summoned a colossal mountain that seemed to devour the stage, and it immediately turned into flat land. Nature elemental heroes painted the new ground with grass, flowers, and trees, and in the middle of it all, Elrisa once again danced while creating bubbles.

“Alright, everyone! Let the competition begin!”

The opening ceremony has officially ended, and some people move out of the stadium to their respective arena. Max also got a notification on his phone that the place for the newbie Olympic will be in another area.

Following the instruction, all the heroes that have just gotten their hero license this year entered buses that have been waiting to bring them elsewhere. Fifteen minutes later, they have already arrived at another stadium in district seven.

Entering the place, Max can see many cameras around as the heroes’ Olympics is being broadcasted worldwide. The newbie competition is one of the earliest events that is getting a lot of attention. After all, a hidden gem might comes out and make their name known to the world. Not to mention, the winner of the Hot Newcomer award will be a rising star in the heroes’ world.

Pyrogen is one of the most brilliant examples. After winning the newcomer award, his rank increased every year, and he was dubbed as the hero from the new generation with the highest probability of reaching S-rank.

All former winners also made a name for themselves. The first winner, Pandora, is a famous A-rank hero. The third winner, Aqua girl, is a famous B-rank with many commercials and starred a lot of drama. The fourth winner, Ghostblade recently promoted to C-rank, and his performance so far has been solid. The second winner is Pyrogen, while the fifth winner will be determined with this year's competition.

“Everyone! Are you ready to shine?”

Elrisa, who wasn’t seen anywhere after the opening ceremony, will be the MC for the newbie competition this year.
