Hyacinth vs Max II

Although Linda is relieved to see Max is still in the game, she had exhausted her energy, so she can only helplessly watch when Hyacinth’s pet destroyed it.

“Linda eliminated. Please move outside of the arena.”

After that announcement, everyone knows that the battle is approaching the end. It was now a 1vs1 battle of Max against Hyacinth. Max has spent energy throughout the fight, while Hyacinth seemed to have taken it easy so far.

Max now looked at Hyacinth’s pet bird closely. The bird that is facing Linda earlier has been fully healed and is battle-ready. At the same time, the other bird that used to block his wind bullet is now nowhere to be seen.

Max realized that Hyacinth might be hiding another bird inside her sleeves, so he will need to proceed cautiously.

Max’s gaze and Hyacinth’s met, and then it signaled the start of their confrontation. Hyacinth’s pet bird immediately went towards Max as it is going to face it in close combat. However, Max himself knows that close combat isn’t his strong field. Most of the time, he is more used to launch special moves and abilities from afar.

Looking at the approaching bird, Max put up a shield made of wind in front of him. However, it couldn’t do much as the bird just went through it without any trouble.

Facing the bird, Max is lost as he didn’t know what to do next.

“Should I reveal my latest move? I want to save this for when I face Giovanni or at a later stage, but it seemed that I need to use it now. It doesn’t matter since all of my competitors are probably having their battle too and won’t see me using it.”

After Max deciding that, he gathered his energy, and the wind in the area seemed to converge on his hand. Amidst the gust, the air feels hot as Hyacinth can feel it on her skin. Right now, the wind has transformed into a gauntlet that is covering Max’s hand. Not only that, it is spinning around it rapidly like a tornado.

Max called this move as ‘super drill’. Although it is a little bit childish, the name stays true to its capabilities. It can penetrate and shred anything that is in contact with it. Hyacinth can feel enormous energy covering Max’s hand, and she ordered her pet to be careful.

A wheezing sound can be heard along with the moving wind as the wind drill is moving very fast. Max punched out forward, and another clanking metallic sound can be heard as the bird’s beak stops his fist.

This time, the clanking sound didn’t stop as the drilling wind keeps on chipping away at the bird’s beak. Max is doing his best not to get pushed back as the pressure he felt on his fist is powerful. It was also clear that the damage done by the super drill is continuous as a c***k can be seen on the bird’s beak.

Seeing on what has happened, Hyacinth knows that her pet won’t last long if she let things continue as it is. With another swing of her hand, a little bird comes out from her sleeve. It was a hummingbird. Despite its small size, it was fast, and with the Avaren family technique, its overall ability is boosted.

It wasn’t let out to help the big bird defeat Max, but it headed straight for Max’s balloon. Anyone watching right now could see that Max is entangled with the big bird, and his balloon is defenseless. Just when the hummingbird is going to penetrate the balloon, like a bullet, something unexpected happened.

Another clanking sound when metal meets metal resounding again. Everybody didn’t notice it, but there’s a faint layer of wind swirling around the balloon. Like the gauntlets covering Max’s hand, he uses the wind to create a swirling shield around the balloon. It creates a layer of protection that couldn’t be seen with the naked eyes from afar.

Max uses his right hand to face the big bird, and his left hand is still free. He is just waiting for the right moment to launch his attack. Max’s sensitivity isn’t losing out to Hyacinth’s at all. He noticed the hummingbird and prepared his trap.

When Hyacinth is surprised that her sneak attack failed, Max swings his left hand forward. When that happened, the wind gathering on his left hand like a drill gauntlet is launched towards Hyacinth. If what he used to launch before is a wind bullet, what he executes now is a wind cannon with a drill bullet projectile.

Hyacinth knows that she will lose if she didn’t do anything. Five other birds come out from her sleeves, and with another white glow covering their body, they transformed into five armored birds and forming a shield.

Max’s attack has been fended off successfully, but then, the shield in front of Hyacinth transformed back into five birds and returned to her side along with the hummingbird from earlier. Hyacinth herself doesn’t look to be just fine as she runs out of breath.

Although Hyacinth’s sensitivity is A-rank, her energy is still at D-rank. Her power is about to run out. Max, however, isn’t doing any better. He looked pretty exhausted while he faces the big bird. Right now, he can finally feel the result of Kalina’s training. Other than tempering his physique, he also learned some techniques to defend himself.

As a hero who excelled in elemental control, although they mostly attack from range, they still need to learn some close combat techniques. If not, they will be utterly helpless if a villain managed to get close to them.

Of course, Kalina, as a former active heroes know of this fact. Because of that, she included some martial arts training for Max. He isn’t a master, but he still able to put up a fight up close. Not to mention, right now, his opponent isn’t even a villain who knows the close-range battle technique. It was a bird that moves according to Hyacinth’s command.

With all of that point combined, Max prepared his last attack.
