Despite the two failures, Max didn’t lose heart and start to contact the third person. That is because he really needs an overseer to become his team member. The third person on the list will be Sarah Lee.

He doesn’t have any contact number, but her address is listed there. So he has no choice but to visit it tomorrow after finishing his mission.

On the next day, Max arrived at the address shown on the profile.

“So, she should live around here. Let me ask around. Excuse me, do you know Sarah Lee?”

Max finds a passerby and starts to ask about his target.

“Oh, I know her. She lives in that building. Her apartment number should be 203 if I remember correctly.”

“Thank you very much!”

Max then went to the building and headed to apartment number 203. When he arrived, the door is open, and many boxes can be found in front of the door and filling the corridor.

“Excuse me, is this Sarah Lee’s place?”

“Yes, this is correct. I’m Sarah Lee's mother.”

“Oh, aunty. May I ask, are you guys planning to move?”

“Yes, Sarah Lee recently got a job in a big company. They provide a place for her and I decided to move with her since it’s in another town. Are you her friend? Do you want me to leave a message for her?”

“Oh, that’s alright, aunty. It wasn’t really important. I’ll just tell her next time.”

Max then silently takes his leave as he apparently too late in making his move to recruit Sarah Lee.

With three unsuccessful attempts, Max is feeling down.

“Should I lower my standard and tried to recruit people with lower rank? Lower rank doesn’t mean that they are bad. It means that they might take a longer time to reach their full potential.”

As Max gets out of the building, he remembers that he still has one more name on the list. If this last name isn’t a hit either, then he should start looking down at the other names from Kalina’s list.

Marie Wozniak, the last person on the shortlist, and Max immediately tried to call her number. After beeping for a while, someone finally picked up the call.

“Hello?”

A shy voice can be heard from the other end of the phone.

“Hello. Is this Marie Wozniak’s number?”

“Yes, that’s me. Who is this?”

“My name is Air Hero. I’m currently trying to find an overseer for my team. I was wondering whether we could meet to talk about it. Or perhaps you have already been recruited by an agency?”

“Ah, is this the newcomer Air Hero that managed to defeat Crawley?”

“Yes, that is me. I’m surprised that you know about it.”

“I’m not confident about anything else, but I always keep up with the news, and by chance, your name came out three months ago.”

“Ah, so that’s why. So, can we meet up to talk?”

“That’s okay. No one has recruited me. Where should we meet?”

“Where are you right now? Let’s meet somewhere near your place?”

“I’m at the public library near the city center.”

“Okay, wait for me there. I’ll be there in twenty minutes.”

Taking transport to the public library, twenty minutes later, Max sends a text to Marie Wozniak telling her that he has arrived.

“Okay, I’ll be coming out right now.”

Coming out from the public library, Max immediately saw Marie and didn’t mistake her for anyone else. Simple clothing, thick glasses, and brown curly hair. Her look is just average, but she is exuding smartness.

“Nice to meet you. I’m Air.”

Max is catching everyone's attention as he is wearing his costume everywhere. He didn’t have to worry about it getting dirty since the costume's material dried very fast when washed. He washed it every night and in the morning he can wear it again.

On the other hand, Marie didn’t catch anyone's attention, and if you’re not careful you will miss her on the streets.

“Nice to meet you too. I’m Marie.”

Marie is also a shy girl as she didn’t dare to look at Max in the eye, and most of the time, she looked at the ground. She also carried a lot of books in her hand. Not to mention her backpack seemed to be stuffed with books too.

“Well, let’s resume our talk in a nearby café?”

“Sure.”

Max then chose a quiet café nearby and entered with Marie.

“What do you want to drink?”

“Anything.”

Max then ordered two cups of coffee, and they sit down at a table in the corner.

“So, I won’t take a lot of your time. As I mentioned previously, I am looking for someone to join my team as an overseer. Are you interested?”

“Urm, are you sure that you’re asking the right person? I mean, although my information stats are quite high, the rest is only D-. maybe you think that D- might still be alright, but I am sure that my actual result is even worse than that.”

Max is now looking at Marie in a new light. He wasn’t sure if Marie is saying that because she is not confident in her own ability, but all the overseer that Max has met is overbearing while Marie is more humble. Just for this, she earned points from Max.

“I’m not sure why you are looking down on yourself. Have you never been contacted by an agency to be recruited?”

“There are several agencies and companies, but after a few tests there, they didn’t accept me in the end.”

Hearing Marie’s explanation, maybe she wasn’t humble at all, and there is a problem with her ability.

“What happened? What kind of tests you did and what’s the result?”

“Since you’ve decided to contact me, I believe you’ve looked through my file. I am quite knowledgeable regarding any heroes’ and villains' abilities and information, but that is because my memory is good. When it comes to operating a computer and accessing the United Heroes database, I’m quite slow. Not to mention that when I look at the scene of battle, I’m at a loss on what to do and fall into panic. Operating drones and looking at the area through CCTV takes a long time for me to complete. As for deciding on what to do, I can’t tell what’s the best course of action to take since I am afraid that my choice will implicate many people. What if I make the wrong choice?”
