Chapter 13 A Sudden Car Accident

“Olivia, don’t talk nonsense. Just eat it quickly.”

Charlotte’s face changed instantly. She quickly stopped Olivia, but she was afraid to look up at Samuel.

Taking a deep breath, Samuel asked softly, “Charlotte, was there a rent collector who harassed you all the time?”

Hearing it, Charlotte was a little surprised and looked up at Samuel. She had no idea why he would know about it.

Noticing her puzzled expression, Samuel firmly believed his guess was right.

“Don’t worry, from now on there will never be anyone to harass you. As long as I am here, you won’t suffer anything!”

Samuel’s words also soothed her panic. She nodded with red eyes and said in a low voice, “Well, nothing. You know, if Olivia can be taken away early, everything I suffered is okay.”

As Charlotte stopped speaking, they smiled at each other, which made words superfluous.

After breakfast, they dressed properly and were to visit his friend to treat Olivia.

But Charlotte was still worried. She asked, “Samuel, I remembered Caleb told me that it would take at least 300 thousand dollars for Olivia’s treatment. But we don’t have so much money now. Our family also won’t help us. What should we do now?”

Samuel shook his head and comforted her with a smile, “Take it easy. I told you yesterday my friend can cure Olivia. Um, he owed me too much, so this time he can pay his debts.”

Olivia blinked and asked curiously, “Dad, why do you have so many powerful friends? Seemingly, many people are afraid of that uncle in our house that day.

Samuel paused. He didn’t expect Olivia had good powers of observation.

Then he touched Olivia’s nose and answered with a smile, “That’s because your dad is a great hero, so his friends are, of course, powerful.” 

“Get over yourself, ha-ha...” Charlotte chuckled.

Olivia naturally believed his words. She put her arms around his neck and said with a smile, “Children in kindergarten told me that my dad must be a bad person. Now I can finally tell them that you are a great hero!”

Her words caused him to give an involuntary shudder.

He has saved so many families, but his daughter was called bastard.

Charlotte also detected an undercurrent of sadness and quickly changed the subject, “Samuel, I forgot to tell you one thing. Tonight is my father’s birthday party. We need to attend, but...”

Charlotte could get no further when saying that.

After all, they had had a big fight at Johnson’s villa yesterday. If they went to celebrate her father’s birthday, they might be driven out right away.

Samuel, of course, knew her.

He knew that Charlotte wanted to celebrate his father’s birthday and took the opportunity to ease the relationship between her and her family.

Today was Ethan’s birthday party. Of course, she wanted to send blessings to her father.

Samuel touched his nose and comforted with a smile, “Don’t worry, I will arrange the birthday party tonight. And I will choose the gift in the afternoon. No matter what happened in the past, we can’t neglect our filial duties and let ourselves down, right?”

In fact, what worried Charlotte most was that the terrible relationship between Samuel and her family. She was afraid that Samuel was unwilling to go with her.

But his warm words really made Charlotte moved, even tears had misted her eyes.

She knew clearly that Samuel agreed to attend Ethan’s birthday party just because of her.

Otherwise, he would distance himself from her family.

“Thank you, Samuel...”

Soon, Samuel took Charlotte and Olivia to the gate of an extremely luxurious manor.

Olivia gazed around in wonder at the luxury manor in Samuel’s arms.

“Dad, it’s so beautiful here! If only we could live in such a beautiful place.”

Her words moved Samuel. He asked in a hurry, “Olivia, do you like living here?”

Olivia nodded gently, “My best wish is to live a carefree life here with my parents.”

Just then, Charlotte gently knocked Olivia on the head and said with a little anger, “Olivia, didn’t Mom tell you before that ordinariness is exactly what we want? Even if we live here, we may not be happy.”

Hearing it, Olivia just stuck out her tongue at her.

And Samuel only shook his head and gave up his plans.

In fact, he can get the most luxurious villa in London with only one phone call if he wished to do so.

But Charlotte obviously didn’t like such extravagant life, so he can only give up the idea.

Just as Samuel was about to ring the doorbell, a luxury car from the other side of the street was speeding in their direction!

Samuel was going to ring the doorbell, so he stood in a safe place by the side of the road. But Olivia and Charlotte were standing in the middle of the road, and the car speed was so fast that they had no chance to run away!

“Samuel!”

Charlotte’s eyes were full of despair.

At this time, she knew she couldn’t run away, so she subconsciously wanted to throw Olivia in her arms at Samuel.

However, Samuel rushed for them in a twinkling, like a bomb blast, very fast.

Olivia burst into tears for fear.
