Chapter 2 I am Samuel

Evan was in a hurry when holding his child. If he hadn’t received a call from the Ministry of Defence, he would have come here earlier. Yes, all the cars in his house had been requisitioned.

He finally arrived at the hospital only to find that Caleb had been caught by groups of hooligans. Evan directly walked over and politely asked, “I am Evan. Who are you? Why did you catch him? Let him go as a favor to me, okay?”

Smile always showed kindness in business. Evan thought to himself, it should also be appropriate to this situation. Though his son was ill, he still didn’t want to cause any trouble. Moreover, it seemed that they were not common people to be trifled with.

“Mr. Thomas, let your men drive them away quickly. I have arranged the best ward for your son.”

“Shut up! You are too noisy!” Evan glared at Caleb and yelled. Noticing the luxury cars parked on the side, Evan was startled. Several of them were requisitioned from him!

When he was about to say something, a man squatted aside interrupted him. “He can’t arrange a room for you today. Please go for another doctor.”

Evan nodded without hesitation and ran into the hospital with his child. In fact, his back was already soaked.

“Mr. Thomas, help me!” When Caleb saw Evan leave, he immediately panicked.

Evan ran away without a backward glance. He thought to himself, f**k you! It’s none of my business. I didn’t want to see Jesus with you! Even the people in the Ministry of Defence intended to please the man, how can he offend him!?

Samuel lifted Olivia from the wheelchair and touched her little nose. “Let’s see your mom,” Samuel said softly.

“Yeah.” When Olivia found he didn’t bring her wheelchair, she quickly shouted, “Don’t forget my chair!”

“You don’t need it anymore. Someone will help you stand. You can walk by yourself like other children.” Samuel comforted. Samuel believed that man, Aaron! He can definitely cure his daughter.

“Really?” Olivia was delighted but turned to sad instantly, “but the wheelchairs could be sold. I want to buy beautiful clothes for my mom.”

“Well, let’s take it.” His nose twitched. He hinted at a man behind to take it and resumed, “I am back now. I will buy many beautiful clothes for you and your mom, okay?”

“Wow! I know you love me most!” Olivia happily kissed Samuel on the face.

Samuel felt the warmth left on his face, and his rage dissipated instantly.

He walked to Caleb and warned, “I’ll give you a day to someone to save you. Or I will kill you!”

“Eli, let him go.”

“And send the car back. We don’t need it now.”

With that, Samuel stopped a taxi and left.

Soon, they arrived at the house where Johnson’s family lived in.

Charlotte sat at the dinner table and looked at the abundant food on the table. Her daughter was helpless in the hospital now, but people sitting around didn’t care about her at all. She only felt sick and wanted to throw the table away.

But she can’t!

She needed her family to save her daughter because a lot of money was needed to pay the expenses of the hospital. Charlotte thought it was worth at the cost of her future happiness.

“Samuel, don’t blame me!” Charlotte murmured. She bit her lips, looking coldly upon his parents, brothers and sister-in-law around her.

“Come on! Tomorrow is a good day for Charlotte to marry a rich and powerful man. Cheers!” Charlotte’s eldest brother Austin raised his glass and said.

“Hum! If she had promised earlier, our family’s career would have taken off. And we should have come to such a pass!” Charlotte’s eldest sister-in-law Riley said sarcastically.

“Charlotte, you must do your duty as a married woman. Don’t worry about Olivia. I am her grandfather. But you can’t see her often in the future.” Charlotte’s father Ethan said sternly.

“And you’d better stay away from that poor soldier! Otherwise, I will not cure that bastard!” Ethan suddenly thought of something and smacked his hand down onto the table.

“She is your granddaughter!” Charlotte cried and screamed.

“I don’t have such a granddaughter. But don’t worry, if you listen to my words, I promise that bastard...”

Samuel, who had just walked to the door, could no longer control his anger and kicked the door open.

“Who are you? do you know where you are? You want to die?!” Austin stood up right away and shouted.

“I am Samuel, Charlotte’s husband, Olivia’s father!” Samuel’s face darkened and he answered in a cold tone.

“Samuel? Are you my sister’s husband!?”

“Well, I am looking for you for so long. How dare you come here! Ouch!”

Samuel held Olivia in his arms and threw Austin to the corner of the room easily.

Then he walked toward Charlotte and murmured, “Charlotte, sorry for my being late!”

“Mom, dad and I came to take you home! Shall we go home?” Olivia said.

Looking at the tall man in front of her and her smart daughter, she couldn’t stand it anymore! She threw herself into Samuel’s arms and burst into tears.

“Samuel, you are finally back...”

Samuel held Charlotte tightly and patted her back. He felt so sorry to her when thinking about her sufferings over the years.

“Yes, I’m back. Sorry! Let’s go home now.” Samuel said in a soft voice.

Samuel was unwilling to see her family because he was afraid he may kill them all, but he can’t. He was unwilling to hurt her. The best way was to leave now.

“You beat me and you want to leave now? Are you kidding!? I will kick you to die!” Austin got up from the ground and wanted to stand in the way, but he didn’t move.

“Charlotte, you can’t leave. You will marry tomorrow. If you leave, we will come to no good end. Thomas’s family will destroy us!” Ethan stood up and persuaded. He also realized Samuel was not a man to be trifled with.

Samuel turned around and said calmly, “She is my wife. She won’t marry anyone.”

Ethan was a little afraid but he knew he can’t let her go. His voice trembled. “How about Olivia’s illness?”

Samuel suddenly turned back. Charlotte and Olivia were his bottom line! No one can touch it!

“You...want to die?” Samuel warned.

At this time, a young man appeared outside the door, followed by a large group of strong bodyguards.

“How dare you! Charlotte is my wife! f**k away!”
