Bonnie Dane.
"Bonbon, let's go, he's here," I hear Nico, yell over.
"I'm coming, I'll be right down," I yell, bending over to find my other shoe.
Nico, where did you put my shoe!
I mentally scold him, as I check the back door. Shawn is right outside, in the living room with Nico, while I spend time looking for my shoe, that Nico, kept unknowingly.
After my last date with shawn, which was a week ago, I haven't seen Shawn since then. Though we do talk everyday on the phone, and he says things, that always makes my heart beat faster and flutter.
A fashion show, is going to commence next month, at LV, and Mr Vuitton has made us to be working our asses off, inoerder to meet up. This time we're going to pair with Versace, as a pair, in one.
Now, that's how hectic it is. I look for my shoe, frustrated at the moment and when I didn't find it, I decide to pick out another pair of black puma sneakers. I descend down the stairs, one after the other, watching as Nico and Shawn, both jiggle and high five, together with a conversation, as though they have known each other, a long time.
I stop, taking in the moment, staring at them with a huge smile on my lips, as they converse.
And then, she wants to break this bond between us.
Last week, when Shawn and I, arrived at my mother's house to pick up Nico, was a night I wish, Shawn had not been with me. But, at the end of it, when he dropped me off, made me realize that I really needed him to tell me to take care of myself.
His choice of words, always amazes me at how much effect, they have on me, and for the first time, I feel so safe and invincible around him. I feel noticed at the same time, I feel so little yet, so big in his eyes.
It's obvious, I like Shawn more than I want to admit, even after he has told me how he feels, and I feel he knows that, which is why he's still persisting.
The other day, at my mother's place. When I went in, I met her sitting at the couch, to which I greeted her and then asked for Nico. She said Nico was asleep, and when I wanted to go and pick him up, she declined, raising her voice, to say, I can't take him with me.
I proceeded, to tell her that, we had an agreement that Nico, was going to stay for as long as I'm out, and when I'm back I get to take him. The whole issue, turned around, when she said if I didn't listen to her she was going to band Nico, from staying with me again, and wouldn't care what either I or Nico thought about it.
I argued with her, to which the conversation got heated, and we were raising our voices. She then said something which made me kept shut - that even if we were to go to court, she would sue me, for trying to take her son from her.
For God's sake, why would you want to sue your own child.
I remained silent, and left with tears in my eyes, at the fact that I had promised Nico, he would stay the night with me. I went back the next morning, asking for Nico and thankfully, it was as though, a spirit had visited her, and she let me take him.
It was as though, I had been away from my brother, for years and it was just a night. When I say, I might not survive, if anything was to happen to him, I mean it.
"Hey," Shawn raises his head to me, with a delicious smile on his lips. I take in his appearance, seeing how much I've missed him, even if I fail to admit it.
"Bonbon, uncle Shawn and I, have been waiting for you," Nico says to me.
"And whose fault is it that I couldn't find my shoe and had to wear another?" I ask him, seeing his cheeks start to tint red in guilt, and Shawn and I chuckle.
"Sorry Bonbon," He apologizes, as I walk closer and ruffle his hair.
"I got another one, right?" I assure him and he nods.
"Are you ready to go?" Shawn asks, as i nod and he gets up, for us to leave.
We're headed to the park. It's Saturday, and Nico has nowhere to go, and so do i. I could have dropped him off at my mother's, but I can't take the chance of a repetition, of what happened last week. I suggested to Shawn, if we could take Nico along, be at the park while we sit and talk, while Nico plays.
Nico sits at the back, while I sit at the passenger seat as Shawn drives. We get to the pack, in less that 30 minutes, as Nico hurriedly comes down, and goes to play.
He was so excited that, a bunch of kids came out to play today, not that they were extremely maximum, but were at a range. Shawn and I find a bench to sit on, at the end of a tree, all while we have Nico's presence at our sight.
"I've been thinking, as a tycoon, I haven't seen any of your bodyguards or security around you, and it would be highly impossible for you to go out, without any security, considering how the world is now," I speak first.
Shawn chuckles lightly, and I find myself, getting dreamy again at him. "You're right, I never go out without security, ever," He says and I become bewildered. "Every time I'm going out with you, or coming to pick you up, I tell them to keep their distance, you just haven't noticed them, but they're all around here," he continues.
"Really? And why don't you come with them?" I ask, inquisitive the more.
"Tell me Bonnie, if I had always come with security, and you see them swarming your house, at every corner, would you be free around me?" He asks, and I reason his question.
"No," I answer sincerely.
"Exactly, you wouldn't. I want you to be familiar with me and so, with Nico also. I want a bond with you, a real, honest and strong bond with you, before I introduce you into my world," He tells me. I stare at him, gulping loudly, and if not for the kids playing, he would instantly hear it.
Why is my heart feeling this way?
Why does he make my heart flutter?
Why does it have to be him?
Why do I want him, more than I'm admitting?
"I don't want to scare you off, Bonnie, and that's why I'm willing to take whatever time it is you need, with you. I'm willing to do all these, not because of anything, but for the way I feel about you, and honestly every second with you, makes me feel more," he says, his eyes trained on me.
I watch him, my mind utterly perplexed, to even think about anything, as his hands caress my face lightly, and I shudder.
Oh lord!
His fingers stroke my skin carefully, as he tucks a strand of my hair back to my ear, and then drops his hand, while staring at me. I want to feel more, I want to feel his fingers strolling down my hands, I want to feel his lips on my temple, i want to feel his hands around my waist, and I want to feel his lips with mine.
Oh my God, what am I imagining!
I quickly revolt the thought, but not before I feel myself, creeping with heat. I want to tell Shawn that I like him too, but I don't trust my words at the moment. So instead I utter, "Shawn...," I start, but he cuts me off.
"As I said, Bonnie, take your time. I'm not in a hurry," He says and I keep my mouth shut, but nod.
"So, you said they're here?" I ask after composing myself, and he nods positively. "can I see one?" I ask again.
"Of course," He says, sitting upright. "There, the one with a black face cap." he gestures towards a guy with a cream shirt, standing by an ice-cream kiosk. "And then, by your right," he whispers behind me, as I turn my body to his words. "The guy by the other bench, with a phone at his ear." he says and I become engrossed at the secrecy, wanting to know and see all of them.
Our proximity, between Shawn and I, drastically close, as my heart picks up it race. "Now, are still curious?" he voice sending fireworks down my spine, as he whispers close to my ear.
I don't utter a word, as I close my eyes, trying to calm myself at our activity. Shawn seems to notice the effect he's having on me, as he shoves my hair to one side, so he's directly whispering into my ear.
God, I can't believe we're doing this at a children's park.
"Bonnie...bonnie..." Nico's voice sprawls us out of our trance, as I yelp out of Shawn's embrace.
Oh my goodness, did he see that!
"Yes... Yes.. Nico" I sit properly, adjusting my hair, and composing myself. Nico stays silent for a second, looking at shawn and then back at me. "Yes.. Nico, do you need anything?" I ask him, taking his mind away from such scenario.
He definitely saw us.
Shit!
"I'm...thirsty, Bonnie," He says, concentrating on me.
"Okay. I'll..." I start.
"Of course, let's go get some water, buddy," Shawn cuts me off, getting up.
"It's fine, I'll get it," I tell him getting up also, but he declines and persists. "Okay, thank you." I tell him, as I sit back.
I'm so thankful, Shawn and I were not doing something more than that. Nico is still young, and I can't want him to be seeing us, at such positions. And.. Oh God- what was that, between Shawn and I. It was like I became mute, I couldn't resist whatever it was he was doing.
Was he doing that on purpose?
Was he purposely tempting me?
Oh, Shawn.
My attention, on the both of them, watching them converse as they go. Today, being the first time Nico and Shawn are getting to know each other. Honestly, Nico is a very friendly child, which I'm glad he is, but my surprise is Shawn, at how loving and friendly he is to Nico, as well.
Which makes my heart melt the more.
My decision is already made. I like Shawn too and I'm ready to give us a chance, I just don't know how to tell him, but I would, eventually.
I stare lovingly at how Shawn, gives Nico the water, and waits for him to take till his satisfaction, then watch him get to the play ground successfully, before coming back.
"Thank you." I appreciate, as he sits back with me, all my fear and hope, for him not to make me, a melting mess again.
-------------
We left the park, some minutes ago, whereas Shawn takes us to the mall, after asking Nico, if he would like ice-cream. Without hesitation, Nico, being a kid, said yes instantly, upon all my debate of telling Shawn, that we didn't have to and that, Nico wasn't his responsibility.
"I know he isn't. But I've taken you as my responsibility, and anyone that comes with you, is my responsibility also" He speaks and I become quiet again, like almost every time he says something nice, all while blushing real hard.
We get to the mall, one of the biggest mall, here at the city. We walk side by side, Nico in the middle of us, as he and Shawn talk about buddies stuff, as they would put it, when I ask.
We get ice-cream, mine being youghurt and vanilla flavor, Shawn taking just vanilla alone and Nico taking a gigantic different flavors. Normally, I wouldn't buy so much for him, he's only lucky, Shawn said he wanted to spoil him for today, and other days I can continue being cautious.
After so much resisting, and when it started to feel like I was hindering the fun of the day, I decide to let go and enjoy it all, as we get into a boutique of wears.
I can still recall the amount of clothes, Shawn slyly purchased for me, and I won't let that happen again today. We walk round, Nico sighting different attires and picking them, all along with shoes, making me feel uncomfortable at how much, Shawn is spending on us.
Nico still being a child, and not knowing overspending, making me go with the flow. We checkout, and decide to head home.
"Shawn?" We all turn our attention, down to where the voice calling Shawn, comes from.
"Fiona?" Shawn calls, as she meets us. "What are you doing here?" he asks. I notice as who Shawn calls Fiona, gaze at me and then at Nico, before looking back at shawn.
"I'm meeting with a friend of mine. What are you doing here?" she asks, her attention down to us again.
"My bad." Shawn says, inching closer to me. "Fiona, this is Bonnie, my girlfriend," I almost choke at his words, as I compose myself, when his hands lie on my waist gently. "Bonnie, this is my friend, Fiona, the one I told you about, the other day," he says turning to me.
I try to pick up, whom he had told me about, and only one person comes up. Which is the person he said was attacked, because that's the only friend, he told me about.
"Hi. Shawn has told me about you, I hope you're fully recovered now?" I speak. Fiona, doesn't say anything for a second, watching me like a hawk, with some kind of attitude in her eyes.
I start to feel offended, when she speaks. "Unfortunately, Shawn hasn't told me anything about you," she speaks maliciously.
I don't know if she said that to make me feel bad, but it didn't. And hearing her words, she doesn't sound like the kind of person, I'd like to hang out with.
"Shawn, you didn't tell me you're now into women with children," she talks again, gazing at Nico, offensively.
Excuse me!
"Now I see reasons, why you're not interested," she adds, and I begin fuming, but calm myself.
If only she wasn't mean with attitude, I would have complimented her. Her style, here wears, all designers and her beauty, no doubt. But then, she decides to be a b***h, and in order not to be the bigger b***h, I remain silent, hoping that Shawn, can take care of his so called, friend.
"Fiona!" Shawn warns, as he glares at her. "Don't." He adds.
"What? I'm only stating my question and statement," She says.
"So what, if he's my son? You've never seen a woman with child before?" I utter, breaking the glance between she and Shawn.
I couldn't keep it anymore. Yes I'm easily tempered, but who wouldn't at her words.
She's practically shading me.
"I see. That's why, you're trying to go after someone high now right, maybe you were left jilted. Sorry." she speaks and I find myself seeping out of control, the more.
"You know what I've noticed right now, it's useless picking words back at you. So I'll be the bigger person, and let your words slide, after all, it seems you really didn't know what you're talking about." I tell her, seeing her her stare at me, in shock.
Good, I got her.
"Shawn, we'll be by the car."I inform Shawn, grabbing Nico's hand, while Shawn nods understanding, not without telling me, he'll handle it.
---------
"Thank you for today, we really had a nice time," I tell Shawn as we get down from the car and Nico sprinted inside, to watch TV.
"My pleasure. And I'm sorry for what happened earlier, she's usually like that." he says, leaning by the car.
"It's fine, I still wouldn't want to meet her again, honestly," I tell him.
"And with the way your replied her, I'm sure she wouldn't also. Either way, I'm sorry," he apologizes again.
"it's fine. I'm not ready to let anyone, ruin the amount of fun I had today. So, thank you very much again," I move closer to him, only inches apart.
"Alright," he says, all while staring at me, predatorly. I stare at him, wondering if I should do what's on my mind, or not.
With the look Shawn keeps giving me, I revolt any negative thoughts and raise my feets lightly, placing a kiss on his cheeks.
Shawn holds a smirk on his lips, as I get down successfully, with him watching me like a predator. "Goodbye Shawn," I say, all while he keeps silent, watching me happily, like he's just won a lottery.
I walk towards the door of my entrance, before looking back again, to watch Shawn still staring at me, then I decided to tell him. "And Shawn," I call, hearing him answer. " I like you too." and with that, I watch him run a hand, the back of his neck, grinning like a child.
Oh, Shawn!
