The Missing Pieces

1330 Words
"Naya" He repeats her name over and over in his mind loving the sound of it. It's as beautiful as the person who bears it. He stands back from his mirror and pours some more water on his face and holds some of it to his lips. He doubts very much that the thirst he is feeling can be quenched by mere drops of water and yet he drinks as much as he can from his hands. When he is done he takes a deep breath. His chest is heaving and just as he thought the liquid has barely scraped the source of the fire that is burning within him. If he didn't know himself at all he would think he is going insane for thirsting after someone he barely knows. He leans his heard on the mirror again, the cool surface dropping the temperature on that particular spot. He takes a deep breath again and exhales loudly. It's time he got back in there. Hiding in here is not helping him in any way that he wished it could. He takes one look at himself and sighs. His royal blue eyes have still maintained its deeper shade and finally he understands what it means. It's a little embarrassing but there is little to nothing he can do about it, at least that is his conclusion for now. As long as she is here it's his most natural reaction. He takes one final look at nothing in particular and he walks out of his shower. He is barely out of the door when he is tackled to the ground by someone from his side. He falls face first and he feels himself pinned by the neck. He is taken by surprise and before he can register what is happening he feels a cold metal blade pressing on his warm skin. But instead of fear crawling up his gut a rather unusual feeling covers his entire being. Its a feeling that he has come to enjoy most in the past few days. He cannot mistake it for anything. It's a peculiar mix of fire and pleasure. He feels the hands holding the blade to his throat shake also and he smirks. And as if whoever is holding him captive can sense that, they dig the blade into his skin. A sharp pain rips though his neck and he feels some warm liquid drop on his skin. He clenches his teeth as he tries to wiggle free from the person's hold but they hold him even tighter unwilling to let him go. "What are you doing Naya?" He calls out to her hoping to distract her a bit and when he feels her hesitate a bit he takes that moment to flip them and he lands on top of her. The look of surprise on her face is priceless. He can tell she didn't expect any of that and he mentally smirks. He can't help but be satisfied when he sees her laying under him. He feels a sense of euphoria every moment he dominates her. But she is not one to give up. She surprises him with an attempt to flip them but he reacts quickly and keeps her down. He pins both her hands together above her head and casts his eyes on her registering his displeasure but he regrets that immediately when she gives him a look that stirs him from deep within. "What...What are you doing?" He stammers still lost in her gaze and unwilling to move away himself. Just like their brief moment in the woods their eyes are glued to each other and speaking a language of their own. Everything about him feels drawn to her in a way he has never felt with any woman no matter how beautiful he thought they were. The place is heating up too and for a moment Xander can't seem to decide what is setting him on fire more. Whether it's the silver shimmer in those beautiful eyes that are pinning him in place or her being under him in this position that is awkward but making him lose his mind as he kneels right over her. He can feel his own blood rush through his veins and taking his control with it. He takes a deep breath trying to control himself but that does nothing when she places her hand on his chest. The contact threatens his sanity that he can feel slipping. This girl is his weakness no matter which way he looks at it and before he does something he will regret he closes his eyes. It takes him a moment to get back to his normal self. When he opens his eyes he looks at her sternly as he ignores every other feeling within him. "What are you doing?" He sounds rather annoyed but he doesn't care. He doesn't get why she just attacked him and that thought brings a tightness in his throat. She looks agitated and he wonders why. He can sense something has changed between them from the last time he saw her. "Nothing" "You call this nothing?" His hand moves to the spot that is bleeding and brings it to her face. He feels his temper rising when she says nothing but just looks away from him. "Let me go." The silent pleading in her voice makes him calm down a little. Instead of letting her go though he brings her face back to looking at him and he finds her looking conflicted. For a moment she doesn't look like the same girl. She looks troubled and afraid and he wonders what is troubling her. He lets go of her hands and gets off of her. He does well to look away from her exposed self to keep himself from being side tracked. "What is going on?" He takes her hand but she moves away from him like his touch burns her. "Am not going to hurt you." He tries to sound as convincing as possible but she just looks ahead saying nothing. "Naya..." He is overcome with sadness when he sees her wanting to stay away from him. Something is wrong with her and not knowing what, is frustrating him. He doesn't know what he is doing wrong and he doesnt get how she can switch so easily between wanting him and running away from him. He moves back a little leaving a bit of space between them but his eyes remain on her still trying to figure out what is going on. They remain like that until she turns to him and from nowhere throws herself at him. "I waited for you for so long." She holds on to him tight and he freezes not because of her touch but her words. He looks down at her holding on to him unaware of what her words mean to him. His mind is spinning out of control as his whole world feels like it's about to change. What happened between her and him earlier completely forgotten. He was right. He thought she might know him but hearing her say it brings him a whole new level of emotions. He is suddenly sweating at the thought of finally getting the missing pieces to his life. It feels surreal to finally have someone who can give him clues about who he is and his past. He holds her at arms length and gets her to look at him. There is so much emotion in her eyes which are twinkling more than before. He smiles and he sees her eyes light up too. She is truly a sight to behold with her long hair that is framing her face. "You know me?" He can't wait any longer to find out what she can tell him about who he is. "Of course. you are my mate." There is a huge smile on her face but he frowns at her answer. "What is a mate?"
