Chapter 3: School

*Third Person POV*             In a different realm, a tall and handsome man in his thirties walked in front of a black throne. His skin was grey also, but he was not a reaper. Black short hair combed and styled to the side, shaved on the sides and back of the head, with a short beard covering his face, complimenting his handsome look, deep blue eyes that seemed to be lit with blue fire. The walls were decorated in blue and black, making the place seem more dark than it already was.                “Did you feel that?” the man asked with a deep and dangerous voice “it was faint, but I felt it, what would you like us to do sir?” another man, younger and also dressed in black, but not as elegant as the other asked him. “Find where the source came from and inform me as soon as you find out, don’t do anything” the man warned the last word to his subordinate. “Yes sir!” the man responded and exited the throne room.                The man walked into a different room, this seemed like a kitchen of some sort where there were more people having some lunch, the people in there were dressed casually and not in suits like the others were. “Dalton, what’s with the long face?” one of the guys in there asked him “we have a job to do, we need to move out, now” Dalton responded “what’s the job this time? Kill more reapers?” the man laughed. Dalton shot him a glare making him stop his laughing “there was a power boost just now, we believe it’s the source we are looking for, we need to find where it is and report back, no engaging” Dalton said to everyone.                Everyone that was in the room stood up from their spots and stood up straight “yes sir!” they all said at the same time. “Good, let’s move out” they walked out of the kitchen, down a long hallway and outside of a big black castle. Outside of the castle, the place was grey, storm clouds swirled around in the sky, but no thunder and no lightning was present. The men looked up at the sky, huge black wings made their way out of their backs, with a big swoosh, they took flight into the sky and spread out, in search of the source of power they were looking for.                *Aaron POV*                School didn’t kid around when it came to training warriors, from the first day training was brutal, luckily for me I had been training with my father since I could walk, so this was a piece of cake for me. unfortunately for the other students, some of them were having a harder time keeping up than others. It was a good thing reapers bodies were made for strength, otherwise I don’t think any of us could have survived the trainings.                “Since this is your first year in school, we are going to be training to strengthen your bodies and develop your speed as well. You have to be strong enough to handle your powers once they show up when you come of age. Also teleportation takes a lot of strength from you, if you don’t have the strength, your body can shut down and you won’t be able to teleport. As a reaper it is important to be able to teleport anywhere you need to be, if you can’t teleport, you cannot fulfill your reaper duties.”                Our teacher, Mr. Red was explaining to us. He is an older reaper who used to be a soul reaper, now he dedicates his time to get younger reapers prepared. “A reaper’s speed is also important, the mist we create is not always going to hide us from others view, so we need speed to move around as if we are invisible, teleportation won’t always work, depending on the circumstances.”                There were at least one hundred new students this year, we had all been separated into smaller groups with different teachers, groups of twenty. I happened to be in the same class as Jackie, this was going to give me the opportunity I needed to befriend her. “Mr. Black, I would pay attention if I were you, after all not all reapers make it the first year and move on to the second year, there are those who get held back.” Mr. Red stood right in front of me and said. All the other kids in the class room tried hiding their laughs, but I looked back at my teacher with a confused look.     I was pretty sure I was one of the advanced students here, and there he was talking to me as if I was going to fail this year completely. Mr. Red sighed and started to walk around again. “The exercise from earlier was to test where your skills are at, some of you are advanced, and some of you are barley starting out.” He paused for a moment before continuing “in my class I’m going to push you to your limits, so be prepared.”     He took us outside of the class room and into a field that was right outside of the school, there were different fields where other students were learning with their own teachers. For the next year, our teacher had us lifting weights, running for miles, anything you could think of to strengthen the body and gather up speed. Every day after school was over, even though I was tired, I would still train with my dad. He was teaching me how to use my lightning, and everything I was learning in school he would put it to use so that I could use it together.     I tried talking to Jackie to see if she would become my friend, but it seems like she wasn’t interested in making friends with anyone, all she did was focus on her training and ignored everyone, even the other girls in our class. As of now my only friend had been Damien, everyone else seem to not like me and ignored me completely. I didn’t mind to much though; I was too focused on becoming a great warrior. *Dalton POV*     My warriors and I had been flying around from realm to realm, looking for a source of power our boss had asked us to find. He refused to tell me exactly what we were looking for, so it made it that much more difficult for me and my warriors to find it. One other thing that didn’t make sense was how many reapers he was killing. Their kind was essential to all of the realms since they were the ones that took the souls of the dead ones to the other side. If he ended up killing all of them the realms would become chaos.     My phone started ringing, when I looked at the caller ID to see who it was I frowned. As much as I hated my boss, I couldn’t do anything about it “this is Dalton” I answered the phone “took you long enough, have you found the source?” he asked on the other line “no, I can’t sense the power anymore, I’m in the portal realm. the feeling went away as soon as I arrived, but I have it narrowed down to three different realms” I said back to him.     There was a pause at the other end of the line “it would help to know what we were looking for exactly” I said breaking the silence. “The reason I haven’t told you is because I don’t know myself” he said angrily on the other line. My irritation spiked up just then, this whole time he has had us chasing something he doesn’t even know what it is, great, just great. “What are the realms you narrowed it down to?” he finally asked.     I took a moment to breathe and cool myself down, “the Nether realm, the Black realm and the underworld” I said to him finally. There was another short pause, followed by an evil maniac laugh from him. “Go to the underworld and keep an eye out for anything suspicious, stop the killings of the reapers and report back with anything you find, send some warriors to the other realms with the same instructions” he finally said “yes sir” I hung up the phone, sent my messages out and headed into the underworld. One good thing came out of this, after four years he finally stopped the killings of the reapers.
