Her Fears

Allen was silently sitting on one the couch. After sometime he got up from the couch and walked straight to his cupboard. He opened the cupboard and then entered the password of the safe. Which was kept inside the cupboard. After that he took out one photo frame out of the safe. He looked at the picture and smiled while sliding down his fingers on the picture.

In that picture there was a little girl who was smiling very brightly, her hair was flowing in the direction of wind and her eyes were gleaming. She was holding a teddy bear in her hand. She was looking like some kind of innocent angel. Allen hugged the photo frame and sighed. He was having a sad look in his eyes and an unreadable emotion on his face. He mumbled in a low voice, ‘ Don’t worry. I know one day you will understand my reasons.’

After that he kept the photo frame back in the safe again and then he called one of his man. The man entered the room after knocking on the door. Allen looked at him and then he started to speak in a low voice, “ Is there any new report on that woman? ” Allen’s gaze was fixed on that man. The man immediately replied to him, “ Boss, we have received a report about your mother. ”

Allen was now glaring at him and he walked straight to him and said to him in a cold voice, “ What did you just say? ”

“ Sorry boss. I mean, Mrs Sophia. She is planning to call her son back here from his foreign studies and she is planning to make her son’s admission, into the same university where you go. ” Said the man in a pleading tone. He forget that Allen hate one thing the most and that’s when someone calls that woman his mother. He sighed in relief that Allen didn’t strangled him for his mistake.

“ You can get out but before that, let me remind you for the last time that, if after today you ever called that woman, my mother then, I won’t hesitate to cut your tongue. ” Said Allen in a calm tone. He was having dead look in his eyes. The man immediately took his leave and now once again Allen was all alone. He sat on the chair and picked up the teddy bear which was kept on the table. After that he looked at the teddy bear and smiled very sadly. Then he hugged the teddy bear and closed his eyes.

He had a faint smile on his face, even though his eyes were closed. In his memories he still remembered, how she helped him when he was a kid. He was so shattered and broken and even though she was still a kid herself. How she helped him to recover and helped him in one of his toughest time.

After sometime he opened his eyes and kept the teddy bear again on the table. After that he went straight to his window side. He looked out of his window, to see the stars. After that he called a number and from the other side a voice came, “ What do you want now? Do you like to disturb someone around this time. ”

“ I just want to tell you that, we are going for the shopping tomorrow for our engagement party, love. So, be ready and just to remind you, I don’t like to wait for anybody.” Said Allen in a low husky voice. While his gaze was still fixed outside the window.

Amy was now irritated to the next level. She so much wanted to choke this guy with her own hands.

“ What’s with the sudden shopping for engagement. No one told anything about the engagement party. Didn’t I told you that right now, I just want to focus on my studies. ” Said Amy in a furious tone.

Allen replied in a calm and deep voice, “ Watch your tone woman. I am not your servant or something. Remember that you will become my wife one day. So, never ever try to talk to me in that tone again or else, it will be too late to be sorry.”

“ If you are finished ordering me then can I go back to sleep. If only you will give me permission to go.” Replied Amy with a sugar-coated voice.

“ All right, I will give you my permission to go back to sleep but before that you have to say good night to me, in a romantic way and with a sweet voice ” Said Allen with a husky and deep voice and he was having a smirk on his face. It was like that he loves to tease her and see the interesting reaction of her.

On other side of phone, Amy was making a disgusted face while she heard the thing that he mentioned to her. Right now she just wanted to puke. She mumbled in a low voice, which can be only heard by her, ‘ Yuck! Who says this kind of thing in such a way.’

“ Love, did you say something?” Said Allen in an enquiring tone.

Amy hold her inner feelings and told him in a sweet voice, “ No, I haven't said anything. You must have misheard. So, I wanted to say that Allen, can I go and sleep. So that I can see your dreams, my would be hubby. So, for now I just wanted to say Good Night.” She was still making a disgusted face while saying all these things.

Allen was chuckling on other side of phone and he replied while laughing, “ You know, you are really bad at sweet talking but no problem, I will help you to overcome this problem. So for now you can go and see my dreams, love.” Allen was laughing so hard that the tears came out while laughing out. It was like after so many years that he actually laughed this much. He wiped the tears from his eyes and then ended the call.

When the call was ended then Amy sighed in relief and after that she rested her head on the pillow. Her phone started to ring once again. She without seeing the caller id yelled on the caller, “ Now what?”

From the other side a man replied in an urgent tone, “ Mam, we have found the details about the man that you have asked us to find out. ”

Amy realised that it was not the voice of Allen but he was one of her minions. So, she replied to him in a calm tone, “ Good, you have done a nice job. Send his location to my phone and keep a track on him. ”

After that she ended the phone call and now she was smiling and she had a gleam in her eyes. She was having some unreadable looks in her eyes. After some moments, she heard a light knock on the door of her room. When she looked at the entry, she saw her mother. She entered her room with a smile on her face. She saw that her mother have some kind of box in her hands. Her mother sat besides her and after that she caressed her head very affectionately. Amy looked at her with no emotions on her face. As the love of mother is something new for her. She didn’t experienced that in her past life.

Her mother with a loving tone said, “ Amy, sweetie are you all right? You don’t seem to be like you these days.  You used to be such a free spirited girl. Always smiling and laughing, What happened to you? You know, baby sometimes I feel that you are suffering so much all alone. It’s like there is some invisible weightage on your shoulders. You don’t even smile anymore . Is everything all right, baby? You can always tell your mom, if something is troubling you. I promise that mom will make everything all right.”

Amy went mummed, she don’t know what to say in this kind of situation and how to tell her that everything is all right. She don’t know how to comfort someone and how to reciprocate to something like mother’s love. She laughed a little, as the word ‘mother’ was something that, she didn’t even used in her last life. As the woman who gave birth to her, never allowed her to call her ‘mother’ but she never really blamed her. As she knew that the man who was her so called father, treated her mother very badly and she was not born due to love but she was born as the result of rape.

“ Don’t worry. I am alright, m. . . . . . o. . . . t. . . . . h . . . . . e. . . . . . r. ” Amy replied while stammering. As calling someone as mother is really something new for her.

She looked at the box which was in her hands and enquired about it, “ What’s in the box that you are carrying. ” She smiled very kindly at Amy and replied to her while opening the box, “ Look, what I’ve bought for you. Your favourite chocolate cake. “ Amy went pale after looking at the chocolate cake. She threw the chocolate cake box on the floor.

Her mother looked at with confusion in her eyes and after that she asked her with a worried look on her face, “ What happened Amy? Didn’t you always loved chocolate cake. If you don’t wanted to eat now. You could have just told me. ”

“ I am sorry. I didn’t mean to throw the cake on the floor. ” Said Amy with a pleading tone while trembling. Her mother replied to her, “ You don’t need to apologize, baby and why are you trembling? Come here, come to your mother. ” After that her mother hugged her very tightly and started to stroke her head affectionately. Amy closed her eyes and remembered the day when she killed someone for the first time, when she was Kate. She was just a kid but because of that man she have to killed the person, who gave her some motherly love.

(Flashback of Kate’s memories)

It was Kate’s birthday but just like every other year no one was even wishing her. She watched that even the maids kids to celebrate their birthdays. She knew that on this day they cut cakes and receives some presents. She was feeling very sad. She didn’t knew about the reason that just why she is treated in this way. She was crying in a corner, when someone approached her. She got scared as she thought that it was her father but to her relief it was one of the maid.

The maid was elderly looking. Her wrinkles are visible. She bended down for the little Kate and then she smiled towards little Kate.

“ I am sorry. I won’t disturb you. ” Said little Kate while wiping her tears away. The woman gave the little Kate her handkerchief to wipe her tears and she replied to her in a low voice, “ You are not disturbing me, young miss. I am Martha and I know why you are so upset. Let me give you a surprise, young miss. ”

“ What’s a surprise, Martha? ” Asked little Kate while stuttering. The word surprise is something new for her. As no one ever cared, even for her existence.

“ Umm, let me show you. Instead of telling about it. ” Said Martha while moving to the kitchen and little Kate also started to follow her to the kitchen. Martha started to mix something in a bowl and after that she kept the batter, inside the microwave. After sometime a sweet aroma started to come from the batter. She noticed that the batter had now puffed. After that Martha took out the chocolate cake from the microwave and started to decorate it. After she was done, she presented the cake to Kate.

Kate gasped while looking at the cake. Martha looked at Kate lovingly and said in a sweet voice, “ Happy birthday, young miss.”

Kate was surprised when she heard Martha. It was for the first time that someone wished her and gave her a surprise. She looked at Martha and hugged her with her little arms. Martha also hugged her back.

“ Wow! I am so happy to witness such an emotional and lovely scene.” Said the man while entering the kitchen. Kate and Martha looked at his direction and they were shocked to see the man. He was none other than Kate's father. He was grinning from ear to ear.

“ So, dear Kate you were going to cut the cake with this knife, right? Alright we will celebrate today but not your birthday but your first murder.” Said her father with a maniac look on his face. He was smiling while stating all of this.

“ What do you mean father?” Said Kate while looking traumatized.

“ Aww, my sweet little naive Kate. I am telling you to grab the knife and kill this maid this instant or else, I'll kill her family with my own hands.” Said her father while giving her the knife.

Kate was trembling in fear and looked at Martha. Who was just smiling and whispered to small Kate in a low voice in her ears, “ I have lived my life fully. You can just kill me, as I don't want to risk my family members life but always remember one thing, never blame yourself for all of this.” After that Martha kissed the forehead of Kate but Kate was still struggling to kill her. Her hands were trembling and tears were continuously falling from her eyes.

After watching Kate's struggle. Martha helped her by grabbing her hands and helping her to stab her in her stomach. Kate was resisting very much and tried to pull back her hands, but before that Martha stabbed herself, while grabbing Kate's hand.

“Tsk, so much drama but she is still alive. Now let me show you the way to finish someone completely.” Said the man with an irritated voice. He started to move to Martha's body. She was still breathing her last breathe. He pulled the knife out, which was still inside her stomach and after that he slits the neck of Martha and he enjoyed her crying and dying voice. Her voice was something that he enjoyed, as it was some kind of melody for his ears. After that he called his minions to clear the mess and the body. Kate was still shivering and crying while looking at Martha’s body. She tried to wake her dead body but it was of no use.

Her father yelled in a loud voice, “ Well, congratulations on your first murder. Let me tell you one thing for the last time. If you ever tried to get closer to someone or if someone tried to show you love and care then that day will be the last day of their life.” He left her after that and started to move out of the kitchen.

The chocolate cake which Martha prepared for her was still kept on the kitchen’s slab. Martha's body was still lying on the ground and only blood was surrounding her body. She puked after seeing the blood and after that day she started to hate chocolate cake, as it always remind of Martha and how she died. Just because she made her a cake, she was killed and she was the reason of her demise and how she killed the person, who showed her some affection for the first time in her life.

Amy was now asleep in her mother's arms. Her mother stroked her head and wiped her tears away. Her mother had a worried look on her face. She was thinking that exactly what kind of dreams, she is having that she is trembling this much due to that.

After that when she felt that she is not trembling anymore. Her mother lied her down on the bed and covered her with blankets and before leaving, she kissed on her forehead very lovingly and took her leave after that.

Amy was sleeping very peacefully but what she didn't know is that someone is planning something big for her and that even, she didn't expected to happen.
