The sound of my cell getting unlocked startled me awake.
Yet it took a while for my vision to come back to me. My eyes were open yet my sight was blurry. The heat from the scorching sun above was not helping in any way.
I tried to move but sharp pangs hit me and scattered across my body so I gave up on that. I felt wasted, bruised and battered. It was a good thing that I had managed to put my robe back on last night or whoever was at the door— would see my nakedness too.
My vision began to get clearer and I saw two men walk into the cage. Then they came to a stop before my helpless body.
"Get up!" One of them ordered in a gruff voice.
I did not think I could since my first attempt had been a complete fail. So I remained unmoving on the cold metal floor.
