Chapter 11 They awoke the following morning to more rain. It was light, but there, and the day was decidedly cold. “What do you want to bet we have our first snowfall soon,” Ansel said when he returned from his trip to the privy. “Ninety-ten that we do,” Hugh replied as he put another log on the fire. “So let’s make sure we’re more than ready.” “Meaning we extend the lean-to, for starters.” “Yep. Then gather more wood, do some hunting, the usual.” For the next week, as they had the previous one, they continued getting ready for winter.
