“Why did you decide to do it?” Kane said as I watched him tend to my hand.
“What are you talking about?” I raised an eyebrow at him. Our gaze and held for a short moment but to me, it felt like more than a moment. Like we were frozen in space, Maybe even time. I inhaled deeply and I looked away almost immediately. My throat suddenly feeling parched and heavy from the eye contact.
I closed my eyes and sighed, my shoulder tensing with anxiety. A few more moment passed before I decided to finally respond to him.
