AURORA I had no idea when we even settled onto the grass. Only that the silence was comfortable and something about it felt too serene that I had no intention of breaking it. I stole a sideway glace at Kane as he stared into the empty space. It wasn't hard to tell that he was lost in his own thoughts. I wondered if deep within, he was battling grief or nostalgia or perhaps even both. I felt the need to say something. Maybe something to give him a reprieve away from his troublesome thoughts but at the same time, I knew that there were moments that people needed to be left alone with their thoughts. I was unsure if he would want me to tamper with the tranquility of the silence that passed here us. I decided I wasn't going to. He missed his mother. I could only imagine how life as a child
