Brandon's POV "So here we are man... What's first? Vegas? Strip clubs? I mean I'm ready to party man." Thomas said with excitement as soon as the plane landed. "You guys know that we don't have a security detail here, it's only me between the of you so don't make my job difficult." Nathan, my bodyguard said. "Tell me again why do you have to do what your mother says? I mean you're a freaking tech mogul, you could just leave all this royal s**t behind and be yourself man." Thomas said. "The same reason you don't man. Don't worry Nathan, I'm not twenty one anymore." I said and we got off the plane. "So where to?" Thomas asked as we got into the car. "I'm meeting up with an estate agent in some resturant in New York." I said. "The Big Apple it is then. I haven't been there in ages and not to blow your bubble or anything, how long are we planning on staying here? seeing that you're meeting up with an agent and all?" Thomas asked as he got himself comfortable and poured himself a glass of scotch. "I don't know man, all I know is that I want to really experience the city. " I said and looked out the window. We drove to a hotel and we checked in. I had about three hours before meeting up with the agent, I had some time to kill. We got into the presidential suite and as usual Thomas wanted to have the first pick, at this moment I knew that if this was going to work, Thomas would have to get his own place. I love my cousin but he can be a little too much at times. He is like a twenty eight year old stuck in a twenty year old mind. I just can't figure it out but whatever it is about him, one thing that for certain is that he always gets us in trouble. I used to enjoy getting into trouble but not anymore. "So what's first?" he asked. "First, we need to freshen up because its been a long flight and you're not exactly smelling like roses." I said and we both laughed. "On the real though bro, What are we really doing here? " Thomas asked. "Look my mother wants me to get married to this girl, one way or the other my ass is getting married, I figured if I had to get married then it had to be on my terms." I said and started to take off my clothes. "So you dragged my ass all the way here so that you can find yourself a wife? Really man?" I said. "Not exactly. I don't want a wife per say. I just want someone I can go back home with. That way I'll tell mother to hold off on the engagement." I said. "She will never agree to that." Thomas said with a laugh. "She will if I convince her that I'm in love." I said. "So you want to actually fall in love with a girl? from the one place your mother hates the most in the world? Grandma would have her head, do you realise what that this could all blow up in your face?" Thomas said. "How? This is a win win situation for me?" I said with smug smile thinking about my master plan. This was full proof. "I mean you would be using some Innocent girl to cause a fight between your mother made our grandmother? Of course there won't be a wedding because neither of them will approve what's more you know that grandma will blame her for sending you here." Thomas said. "Or.. Aunty might just see through this facade." Thomas said. "This all depends on my mark. I have to find a perfect girl. A nice girl, I mean the ones you take home to meet your parents." I said. "You mean a virgin? In New York? I think you're high on something today." Thomas said. "Whatever man, I'm going to freshen up. " I said and left him there. I mean he doesn't get it. I don't even have to get a virgin. I just want someone I can take home. Someone who doesn't look like a bimbo. I have to do everything in my power to get out of marrying that princess, whoever her name is. I honestly think that my parents could do better, especially my mother. My father is old and he does things his own way, my mother on the other hand is a modern woman, I don't understand why she force such things on us. My sis has just turned eighteen and mother is already preparing her on how to be a wife and a good queen to her husband. I mean what about her dreams? What about the fact that she said that she wanted to go to College? I must admit that we had a lot of backwards thinking when it came to a lot of things, when it's my turn to rule, I'm going to change a lot of it, it's about time we move with the times. As important as it is for my father for me to give them an heir, I still think that it should be on my terms. I don't want to be told what to do, not anymore. I still find myself at the crossroads of being a good leader some day, but first I have to follow. My parents are still my King and Queen and their word is still final. My grandmother and my mother don't really get along. I don't know why and coming to think of it, they've never gotten along. They can't even stand to be in the same room together for a long time. This is a shitty plan at least I can admit that but Thomas was wrong, I'm not going to go about this the way he thinks. If I want my mother to believe I was in love, I would have to have some chemistry with that person. So a virgin was totally out of the picture. It would be an appealing fact to my mother but there's no ways she's going to buy that I have gone celibate. I can convince her of a lot of things, I just can't convince her of that. So I had to play this right. I finished up with my shower and went to check on the clothes I packed. I was having a difficult time finding something to wear. I didn't want to look like myself but I also didn't want to look like an i***t. I was going to meet up with an agent so I had to look good but not too good. "What's taking you so long man?" Thomas asked as he banged on the door. I decided on simplicity. If I wanted to live like a regular guy, I had to be simple. I chose black slim fit guess jeans. A black Guess t-shirt and a black tuxedo blazer. I rolled the sleeves up a bit, I took my Ray ban aviator sunglasses and out them on. "Okay... that looks different, but I like it." Thomas said. Thomas was wearing a Gucci t-shirt. Levi's Jeans and sneakers. "You dress like a teen." I said. "What's wrong with that? We can't all be stylish like you, this is simple and I like simple." Thomas said. "Fine let's go meet up with my agent." I said. We got and we found Nathan waiting for us in the car. I gave him the name of the restaurant and he took us there. "So this is where you're meeting?" Thomas asked with weird look on his face. I must admit. This wasn't what I expected. "Well I guess..." I said. There was what looked like a line. This is a first. I've never seen a line at a restaurant. "Brandon?" A female called me from the door of the restaurant. She waved for us to come to her. "That's her..." I told Thomas and we went into the restaurant. It didn't look too bad on the inside though. The furniture was nice even though it was a bit outdated. They kept the place clean and it was packed. "What's the line for?" I asked my agent. "Oh, it's for muffins. It's their speciality." She said sounding excited. "I've never seen anyone excited about muffins, they must be special." Thomas said with sarcasm. "You don't have to take my word for it, you'll see for yourselves, I've already put in an order for us." She said. "In the meantime, I wanted to show this." She said and slid me her iPad. I took it and took a look at what she had for me. She was right on the phone, they're all beautiful places, she had exactly what I asked for. "I like this one..." I said and showed it to Thomas. "Alright, this is cool, it has an infinity pool, nice space inside, big windows so lots of light, I love the big bedrooms, man this could be our home." Thomas said with a smile. "My home, we're not staying together buddy, here, find one for yourself." I said. "What do you mean we're not staying together?" Thomas said in shock. "Exactly that, we're both going to need some privacy. " I said . "Fine, I'll take one nearest to him." He said and handed the iPad back to the agent. "Actually you two could be neighbours, there's one in the building next to his." The agent said with a smile. "I'll take it." Thomas said. "You don't even want to see it?" The agent asked. "Nope, I believe in you." Thomas said around the time a middle aged woman came in to give us our muffins and coffee. "Brandon this is May, she owns this place." The agent gave us an introduction. "Pleased to make your acquaintance, lovely place you have here." I said. "Thank you, please enjoy the muffins." She said and left. "She seems like a nice lady." Thomas said and took a bite of his muffins. "Sweet mother of..." He said and took another bite. "These are good... " he had another bite and drank his coffee. "Man you should try these... They're really really good." Thomas said. "I'm not big on baked goods, I have too much of that back home." I said. "Fine then can I have yours?" He asked. "Go ahead."I said and Thomas had a huge smile on his face. He devoured them all. I on the other was waiting to get to a real restaurant so that I can get a real breakfast. We finished up our business with the agent and she left whilst we stayed over for a bit. May came back to check on us. "Are you gentleman still good?" she asked with a smile. "Yes, can we get four more of those delicious muffins?" Thomas asked. "I'm afraid we're out of those sir." she says with a smile. "Damn, they're really good man." Thomas said with a smile. "I know I enjoyed the coffee." I said. "That's good, I make it myself." She said with a smile. "Can we have our bill?" I asked with a smile. She came back and gave us a bill that was less than a hundred dollars. I took out a whole stash in my pocket, I think it was three grands and I put it on the table. This was for the lovely coffee. Thomas also went into his pocket and also put a stack on the table. May came back and almost fainted when she saw the money. "This is too much, I can't accept this." She said. "You can't return a gift, this is a gift for the lovely muffins." Thomas said. "I still can't." She said. "Okay I know how we can solve this, this is now my retainer for the rest of week, we'll just show up and have coffee and those lovely muffins." Thomas said with a smile. "Okay I think that can work. My daughter will be happy to hear that she now has customers on retainer." She said. "Thank you May, this has been a lovely morning." I said and we both got out of the restaurant. "Now can we go find some real food? I'm hungry man." He said. "You should have had some of those muffins man." Thomas said with a smile. "Fine, I'll try one tomorrow." I said and we walked. Nathan was walking right there and keeping his distance. "Let's go back to hotel and order some room service." I said and we walked back to the hotel. I love New York. We get to walk around and see the city. Everyone is minding their own business. We walked through Times Square and I see a photo of myself on one of the Billboards for Guess Jeans. "Hey man look, that's you." Thomas said pointing at the picture. "Yeah right, that's the crown prince from England you idiots." A little kid said and laughed at us. "Okay that was refreshing." I said. "I told you not dye your gold hair, now look at you? People can't even recognize you." Thomas said. "That's the whole point man." I said with a smile. I was able to walk around without being worried about being seen, the fact that Nathan was also keeping his distance was a huge advantage. No one could even see that I was somewhat important. We got to the hotel and we went to suite. I ordered in some room. service and finally had my breakfast. I kept on think about May's resturant. The place sold good coffee and that's for certain, I just wonder why they don't put on more food on the menu. "Do you think that the muffins are the only thing they're good at?" I asked Thomas. "What?" He asked with a mouth stuffed full of a bagel. "I mean the restaurant, you had their muffins, do you think that's the only thing they can do?" I asked Thomas. "How am I supposed to know that? did you forget that it both out first time there?" Thomas asked. "No but I think that we should try more things on the menu. Tomorrow we'll try some of their lunch." I said. "Dude, you should have tried the muffins, I'm going back early tomorrow, I'm bringing some back." He said. "Perhaps we could even see the Chef." I said. "Why?" Thomas asked. "So that we can ask her to add more things on the menu, besides don't you want to know who makes those muffins you're so crazy about?" I asked. "Sure, maybe we can even send some to Granma, you know she has a sweet tooth." Thomas said. "Yeah I think she'd like that." I said. "That's why we're her favourite grandsons" Thomas said. "You can say that again." I said and we both laughed.
