Brandon's POV
Going out with my cousin Thomas was probably the only best decision I've made since I came here. I had fun last night well some fun.
I just wasn't planning on bumping into a certain beautiful young woman though. She looked gorgeous. I must admit that Thomas might have been right about her, I like her .
After seeing her dancing with that guy, I knew that I had to have her. She's everything and more. At first when I saw her I was taken by her beauty.
When I saw her at the club, everything just fell into place. I asked my bodyguard Nathan to find out who was the guy she was with last night.
Which is all I could think about when I went to bed last night. I just have to know if I have to be worried about that guy or not. I got out of bed and went straight to the shower.
When I came downstairs from the bedroom Nathan was already having coffee in the kitchen. I suppose we had a few minutes before Thomas came.
"Morning bro."I said.
"Morning, How's your head?" He asked.
"a bit hungover but I'll be fine." I said.
"I bet Thomas is having one helluva a headache " He said and we both laughed.
That's because last night my cousin lost control and partied like it was his last day on earth. I was even afraid that he would pass out in the club.
I don't even know how Nathan managed to get him home. I wasn't going to allow him to come home with me like that.
"So what did you find out about that guy?" I asked.
"You mean the one dancing with your girl?" He said.
"She's not my girl but yes, I meant him." I said.
"Well I found out a lot about him." Nathan said.
"Spill it man." I said.
"His name is Sean Grahams, He is a trust fund baby so his parents are loaded. He lives in the apartment downstairs and he works at the restaurant." he said.
"He works with her?" I asked.
"Yes, in the kitchen." he said.
This means that this guy was going to give me a good run for my money. He is rich and he knows how to make her laugh.
I saw the way he was looking for at her. He likes her but I don't think that he's the type to keep them. Well I'm no better but what I have to offer is much better than what he has to offer.
I then had an idea. If I was going to get Karina then I had to pull out all the stops. That means I have to find a way to get close to her and I had the perfect plan for that.
"Nathan I need you to do something else for me." I said.
"Yes your highness." He said.
"I need you to pull out financial records for the restaurant." I said.
"Okay, what do you want with those?" He asked.
"Just pull them" I said.
"Alright, I'll be on it." He said just as the buzzer went off. I didn't have to be a genius to know who that was.
"Can you let that i***t cousin of mine in?" I said and went up to my bedroom.
I fetched my phone to see if there was any f*******: notifications on my face profile. Last night I sent Karina a text.
She was drinking like there was no tomorrow. I sent her two messages hoping that she would reply but she hasn't yet.
I'm not surprised though. She didn't seem like a social media person. Her account has only been recently activated, she hasn't even shared or posted anything on her profile.
She didn't even have any friends. just her brother and the people she works with at the restaurant. Okay maybe I kind of cyberstalked her but only because I wanted to know more about her.
I went downstairs and found my cousin drinking water which was a huge surprise for me. I guess he partied harder than I thought.
"Hey man." I said and took a seat next to him.
"I need greasy food man, let's go get breakfast." he said.
"No muffins today?" I asked in shock.
"Never, they're part of the breakfast." he said.
"Fine, let's go." I said and we left and went to the restaurant.
I was hoping to find May busy as usual but this time she wasn't there, instead it was just the girl's and her daughter.
"Hi my name is Karina." She said and introduced herself at our table.
I think that she might have forgotten that she had been introduced to us by her mother.
"Hey Karina." I said.
"Hello beautiful." Thomas said with a smile.
"Brandon and Thomas right?" She asked.
"Yes, your mother introduced us the other day, where is she anyways?" Thomas said.
"Oh she had to run some errands, she will be back soon." She said.
"It's okay, we don't mind being served by her beautiful daughter." I said and I saw her smile. She blushed a bit.
"So what can I get you guys today?" She asked with a smile.
I think that she might really like this Sean guy. Usually waitresses don't want to leave our table and she seems to want the opposite of that.
"I'll have four muffins, two of each, then I'll have fried eggs, bacon, some pork bangers and a lot of hot sauce and some really strong coffee" He said.
"Okay, are you hungover?" She asked.
"Yeah, I think I had too much fun at Midnight Apple." Thomas said.
"Oh my God, I was there too last night with my colleague." She said with a smile.
I smiled when I heard her call that guy her colleague. This means that they're either friends or its not that serious. Either ways this was good news.
"So that's your kind of scene?" I asked.
"Oh no, infanct I hardly ever go out, I haven't been out like that since my first year of college." She said with a smile.
"Wow, you're a college graduate?" I asked.
"Not exactly..." She said. I didn't want to pry so I let the matter go.
"And what will you be having?" She asked me.
"I'll have pouched eggs and ham, I'll have toasts and coffee as well." he said.
"Coming right up." She said with a smile and went to get our food.
"I see she has her mother's skills." Thomas said.
"Yeah, she's great, I mean look at her."I said with a smile as I watched her walk away from us.
"Brandon what is it with you and this girl?" Thomas asked.
"I don't know what you mean, I was just agreeing with you." He said.
"You know that I'm on to you right?" Thomas said.
"On to me about what?" I asked.
"Find another mark and leave this poor girl alone." Thomas said.
"I didn't even do anything."I said.
"I know you man, and I know that you have a plan." Thomas said.
He was right about knowing me. I had a plan alright, but it's not what he thinks.
"I don't know what you're talking about, where are we going tonight?" I asked trying to change the subject. I know my cousin and he loves partying.
"Probably a place where I could find me a fine girl to go back home with at the end of the night." He said.
"What did you have in mind?"I asked.
"I saw some club, I think we could try it out tonight." He said.
"Fine but after tonight no more partying like we're teenagers." I said.
"Speak for yourself man. I always party hard." He said.
After a while Karina came back with our food. It looked great. I guess this Sean guy was really good at cooking. She put the tray down and gave us our food.
"Now if you two gentlemen would excuse me." She said and left the table.
If it was May, we would be laughing right now. May reminds me of my mother but only if she was sweet.
I had my food but my mind was elsewhere. I was looking at Karina as she served other guys. I got a bit angry when he smiled with other guys.
I just think that she might be exactly what I need. Even if I don't go home with her, I know that I have to have her. She will be mine soon. I'm going to make certain of that.
After a while she came back to our table to check on us and asked if we needed anything else. If this was my restaurant, I would he proud to have Karina and May working for me.
The both of them had great people skills. They're both friendly and professional. They make you feel like family. Now this is what I call excellent customer service.
We told her that we were good and that we would let her know if we wanted or needed anything from her and she went to tend to other customers. We were then done and she came to take the bill.
As usual Brandon and I took out stack of money and put it to on the table. Her eyes went wide when she saw the money.
"Are you guys paying for everyone in the restaurant?" She asked.
"No, just us two." I said.
"This is too much, I can't accept this." She said. I was right. Karina is just like her mother.
"Please don't tell me that we're going through this again?" Thomas asked.
"What is he talking about?" Karina asked with a worried face.
"Your mother said the same thing the first time we paid." I said.
"Oh..." She said and blushed a bit.
"So you have to take the money because it's part of our deal with your mother." I said.
"Okay if you put it that way." she said and took the money. "Thank you for this." She said with a smile.
There was suddenly a noise in the backround. A bum had entered the restaurant and he was asking people for food.
"I'll be right back." She said and went to the guy. A lot of people were giving the guy a dirty look.
Karina went there and touched his hand. He spoke to him like a normal person and I saw him smile, seconds later he took him to the direction of the kitchen.
I can only wonder what she said to the guy to make him smile like that. I must say that I was impressed with her.
"Okay now that was different." Thomas said.
"I know, most people would have thrown him out." I said.
"Well she has a heart of a saint." Thomas said.
We made our way out of the restaurant and we went back to my place. Thomas went to take a nap and I searched for a stylist online. I found three and I made appointments with them.
After that I went to office and checked on my businesses. After hours of being glued to the computer working, Thomas came in with food.
"I ordered pizza." he said and put the box of pizza on my table.
"Thanks man." I said and closed my laptop. I was done for the day. I mean a man could only do so much.
My phone rang. I knew immediately who it was and I honestly didn't have the energy to answer it, I also knew that it couldn't go unanswered.
"Hello." I said.
"Hello son, how's it going over there?" My father asked.
"It's going good." I said.
"Good, So when are you coming back home?" He asked.
"In five months." I said.
"No, it can't do, you have to be back sooner than that." My father said.
"Mother said six months, we agreed on six months." I said.
"Don't you think that I also want to take off a year and travel the world? I don't because I can't, I have responsibilities same as you.
You have sixty days to get your behind back home, we have work to do here." He said and hung up the phone.
That wasn't a request from a father. That was a command from my king, one I had to obey no matter how much it hurts.
"I take it that we have to go back home?" Thomas asked. I guess he saw the look on my face.
"Yes, we have two months, that means that I have two months to get things rolling and I'm not even on phase one of my plans." I said.
This was unexpected. I should have known that what my mother said was too good to be true. I thought I had six months. Now I'm left with two.
This means that I have to get Karina. I have to focus entirely on making her mine. Even if it will only be for a couple of months.
I just know that if I don't do this, I will spend the rest of my life asking and wondering of what might have been if I took a chance.
"You were right you know?" I said to my cousin.
"Right about what?" Thomas asked.
"About Karina, I think I like her." I said.
"I know. I've seen the way you look at her." Thomas said.
"And yet you don't want me to persue her?" I asked.
"Yes cousin because it wouldn't be fair to her, say that you persue her and find that she actually likes you too, what happens when you go back home?" Thomas asked.
"I don't know man, all I know is that I like that girl and that I want to give myself a chance at a real happiness for once.
Back home everyone knows who I am, it's hard getting a girl who will like me for me and not my royal status. Karina doesn't even know who I am." I said.
"And that part scares me the most. Have you thought about what might happen to her if you get into a relationship with her and people found out?
You know how those media houses can get, they will dig up everything about her, her whole life will be there for everyone to see, do you really want to put her through that?
Not only that, she will be falling for a lie because this man right here is not who you are. You're the crown prince and nothing is going to change that." Thomas made his point.
"So you're saying I must leave what is probably my only shot of happiness?" I asked.
"Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. Let that girl be." Thomas said.
At this point I don't think he understands how I feel about this girl. I have seen her three times and I know it deep down in my heart that I can't let her go.
My heart wants what it wants and right now it wants Karina. I have to have her. No matter what.
