CHAPTER EIGHT As everyone filed into the conference room for the briefing, Avery realized it was the most people she had been around since Ramirez’s death. Sure, there were more people than this in the grocery store when she’d had to go from time to time, but those people were dispersed throughout the store. Here, they were all packed into one room.
