I see the horror on Ellie’s face at something behind me and quickly turn to see Mani’s father wielding his sword. I rush into him, knocking him down and throwing his sword away.
Harald is there in an instant, his sword at the man’s throat, forcing him to the ground.
“No,” I demand. “A quick death is too good for him. He will get the blood eagle.”
“Now?” Harald asks, disinterested in it. I’m sure it’s because he’d rather stay with Catherine, but it needs to be done.
