I throw everything to the side, leaving the house a mess and waking Mani in the process, but I continue and throw myself into my husband’s arms. “It’s alright, Ost Minn,” he whispers into my hair. “No one hurt you, did they?” He holds me back at arms length and when he sees my neck his face goes red. “Who.” “The one with eyes like yours,” I say softly, pulling back and going to pick up Mani. He nods and moves to pull on his pants, knowing exactly who I am talking about. “Did anyone touch our daughter?” he asks. “No,” I tell him, bouncing her softly. “No one touched her.” He nods, turning to walk outside. Slowly, I follow him but stay as close to the house as I can. Mani continues to fuss and I realize that with all the times she’s been woken now, she’s probably hungry. I
