Why did I feel hope of seeing him again when I didn't even know him at all? Before I could answer, Harley suddenly burst into the men's room. "Oh, there you are! I've been looking all over for you!” Harley said with one of his eyebrows raised. “I went to get some drinks and I got here and did my thing,” I shrugged my shoulders. Harley glanced at the guy not too far from me and a playful smirk spread across my dear best friend's face. He walked towards me keeping his eyes on the handsome guy who wasn’t paying any attention to us. Harley leaned closer to my ear, “is his thing there, the thing that you did?” I chuckled and looked at him in surprise, “Ley, can you not?” Harley giggled, “what?” The guy chuckled and stood up from where he was seated. He washed his hands and then pretended to fix his shirt and his belt. Harley giggled more and pushed me towards the guy. “Can you stop?” I told my best friend with a shy smile. “C'mon we gotta go. I don't want Alistair to kill me if he finds out where I took you," Harley grabbed me and pulled me to get out. "Hey angel..." the guy called me back. Harley stopped and smirked at me. I turned around to stare at him for the last time. I chuckled, feeling embarrassed about what he called me. "If I find you, will you go out with me on a date?" He asked with a smile. I felt that heat in my face, "Uhm, if you could... yes..." "Okay, remember me then... It's Zuri." He smirked so sexy I shrugged Harley's hand and walked back to him to kiss him one last time. I cupped his face and looked into his eyes before I pressed my lips to his mouth. I just realized that his lips were soft and a little plump. The taste and scent of alcohol was weirdly a great combination in his mouth. I felt him hugging me tightly and kissing me passionately. I was so intoxicated with lust earlier that I didn’t know how his arms around me felt homey. As soon as I let go, I got the chance to stare into his eyes. He had gorgeous deep blue eyes that I suddenly wanted to always look at me lovingly. Then I spoke the words that I knew would be impossible but I still wanted to say. "Come and find me… I’ll be waiting." “I will… I promise…” He had that small smile on his lips. And there was something in his eyes that told me he would keep that promise. I pulled away from him slowly and walked back to Harley. I turned around and didn’t look back. I somehow felt that if I didn’t leave now, I wouldn’t leave anymore. Then I left the restroom, leaving Zuri with a smile on his handsome face. When I was in Harley's car, I somehow felt hopeful that we would meet again. I just smiled even though I know we can't be together for so many reasons. "What will happen if you meet again?" Harley asked teasingly. "Then we are destined," I said. Zuri, I hope we meet again. I smiled. (Two days later...) "I told you to stop going out by yourself. You know that I have lots of enemies out there," Alistair said. "They're your enemies, not mine." I crossed my arms over my chest. "Nix, how many times would you go against me? I'm doing my best here to take care of you, yet you don't want me to." "I could take care of myself! I don't need you to protect me!" I yelled. My stepbrother is a politician. His dad was a retired politician and he is a widow, while my mother remarried him and kept herself the queen that she wanted to be. When they got married, I was forced to do things that made me feel like I was in prison. I couldn't do the normal things that I wanted to do because people always followed me around. I’m like a “don’t do this, don’t do that” kind of life. Every move that I make equals paparazzi everywhere. They are trying to find dirt on this family through me so they can target Alistair and pull him down. He is the mayor of the city, but now he is gunning for a senatorial position and I was his only weakness. So, in short, I got caged since our parents believed that I could ruin his political career. Alistair somehow is different. He hates it when I rebel towards him or our parents, but when it's time to clean my dirt, he does everything he can to clean it. Plus, he confessed that he loved me, not just in a brotherly way, some years ago. So, you can imagine how shitty this situation is. "Your last bodyguard had already resigned because he couldn't handle your crazy antics. When will you stop?" Alistair sat on the edge of his table. I didn't respond. He sighed, he crouched in front of me. He leaned closer and whispered enough for me to hear, "you know that I care about you. I couldn't help but be worried. Two nights ago, you ran away from your bodyguard again." I snorted and then I suddenly remembered my public toilet f**k. I smirked and felt the heat on my face. "Excuse me, sir. The agency is here," his right-hand man said. He just looked and glanced back at me, "we'll talk about this again." He held my hand and kissed my forehead, "stay here." I took my hand away and rolled my eyes at him. I played with my phone instead, but I couldn't help but overhear them talking. "This is the replacement bodyguard for Master Phoenix. I'm sorry about the last one. This one is more trained than him. I assure you it will not happen again." Alistair spoke, "thank you. I just want his safety to be the first priority." He patted my back, but I didn’t bother looking. "Nix, I have a new bodyguard for you. Please don't run again, okay? This is for your own safety." I clicked my tongue and then looked up from my phone annoyed, "I told you so many times I don't need a bodyguard. They are all useless people." Alistair just shook his head at me and turned in another direction, "Hi, I'm sorry that you have to hear that." "It's okay sir. I'm used to some clients not wanting to be guarded at every move." I somehow was familiar with the sound of the voice. I waited and my heart suddenly started to race when I realized where I heard that voice before. To be continued…
