Part 3

Ahana could hear the sound of clock ticking, a stark reminder that she had still not responded to his suggestion. The touch on her wrist burned, her mouth parted as no words left her lips. Why couldn't she deny him straight away after all these years? Did he still care? No. She was not going down that route because it only ended up in the omega all alone, crying till she passed out. Not again. With a force, Ahana freed her wrist pining him with a hateful gaze. Before she could utter anything, the sound of footsteps alerted her and the door was rudely pushed open. The strong scent of cinnamon filled the room, alerting of Richard even before she could see him. The omega sagged, the hair in the back of her neck standing up. How could she explain the reason she ended up with Lucas in the room alone? "Mr Costa is everything alright?" Richard asked, his tone way too enthusiastic for the time of day. Maybe he didn't see her and she could easily slip away. "Ahana?" Her joy was short lived. Clenching her jaw, the omega simply turned on her heels and faced her boss, a sheepish look taking over. Richard arched his brow, shifting his eyes between the two of them. "What are you doing here?" "Miss Ahana here was showing me the way to the meeting room. I got lost." Lucas cleared his throat, straightening while tugging on the sleeves of his shirt. Richard laughed as if it was the funniest thing he ever heard. Way to appear professional. Ahana thought to herself while not moving an inch from the place. She looked over her boss shoulder only to find an empty hallway. Is there any way someone can swoop in and take her spot instead? "Happens to the best of us Mr Costa! This resort is a maze. Tell him, Ahana." Richard nudged at her which earned a sharp glare from Lucas. If looks could kill her boss would be under six feet in a minute. Ahana huffed under her breath, barely mustering the courage to look up. Richard and Lucas were the last people she wanted to be stuck with and have this conversation. "I had no idea we are so friendly with the staff here. Maybe it's good thing I took over. We will go over some rules and regulations so that everything is upto my standards." Ahana's nose flared at that. She was already tipsy and sitting through a meeting where Lucas discussed about implementing his way of running the resort sounded deathly. Lucas must be doing this to further torture her. There's no other explanation for his obnoxious behaviour. She cursed him under her breath, eyes shifting towards Richard and hoping he would somehow get out of it. Richard awkwardly laughed, "You misunderstood me, Mr Costa. We have been working together for a long time..." "I understand clearly. Besides everyone is already in the meeting room..." Lucas twisted his lips. Richard fumbled, opening and closing his mouth like a fish out of water. He had no argument for that. Seconds passed and Ahana noticed how her boss pathetically surrendered. Of course. "Whatever you say, Mr Costa. The room is all yours." "That's what I thought." Lucas hummed, buttoning his jacket and without any look in her direction headed straight towards the door. The Alpha exuded power, the kind which made people follow him without any doubt. Thats how he was back when they were mated. Ahana pondered over their past for a second, thinking about Pack Alpha Lucas and how that made her omega submit to him. A shiver ran down her spine, cheeks turning pink as sudden images flashed through her head. "Miss Ahana..." At that, she jerked from the dream like haze and stared at Lucas who had a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. It's as if he could read the thoughts running in her mind. Blinking, she composed herself and took a step in his direction. "Y-Yes?" "Lead the way." *** Despite her best intentions, Ahana ended up zoning out a bit while they get to team check-ins, allowing Nina to do most of the talking about their department. The omega didn't understand what was the need for this session while there was a party going on downstairs. To make matters worse, she developed a headache, temples throbbing excruciatingly every time the omega so much as blinked. By the time they're nearing the end of the meeting, spots are dancing in her eyes, blurring her vision. Ahana just wanted to go back to the comfort of her home. She never thought she'd feel this way - going to work once seemed like the highlight of every day, an escape from her empty flat and the loneliness that bloomed whenever she's there. The omega enjoyed working in the resort, meeting new people but seeing Lucas standing in the middle of the hallway, coming back as the new owner felt like a final nail in the coffin. Exhaling slowly, her eyes shifted towards the root of her misery, staring right back, studying those eyes which she once knew better than anything else. The omega had seen them sparkling with mirth when Lucas was happy, foggy with distress when he was sad, and darkened with lust when they were- The omega cleared her throat, sitting up straight and looking away. What was wrong with her? It doesn't matter if she remembered it all- it'll never change the fact that Lucas threw it all away without as much as an explanation. It'll never change the fact that Ahana will never belong to him...that they'll never belong to each other ever again. The Alpha doesn't even have the strength to acknowledge their past and that they already know each other, so she found it hard to believe he's feeling the same inner turmoil raging in her stomach. "I feel like this calls for a celebration!" Richard clapped, gaining everyone's attention. He motioned towards the waiter at the door who walked in dragging a drinks trolley. Ahana warily looked at the bottles of champagne placed in bucket of ice and shifted in her seat. More alcohol? The denial was on her lips when she noticed Richard handing everyone the glass with a stern look on his face. She had no other choice. *** "I can walk perfectly fine! See!" The omega pushed through the iron gates, and strode to the elevators, jabbing her thumb at the up button several times before Lucas snatched her hand and held it in his fist. "Of course you can, baby." He said softly, squeezing her hand in his. Ahana was pretty sure being stabbed would hurt less than hearing that endearment from his mouth. It's all a haze. The memory from the meeting room leading up to the elevator. All she could remember was Lucas beside her, his warmth clouding her senses. The elevator doors opened. The Alpha still held her hand, and she couldn't figure out how to make him let go without being rude or hurtful, so she resigned to it and tugged him in after her. They don't talk on the ride up, but that's not new. Lucas was not much of a conversationist. The silence was unfamiliar, and it grated at her but there's nothing she could think of to say. It didn't help that he did this thing when they held hands; Lucas dragged his thumb back and forth over the sensitive skin of her palm. Ahana didn't know when she first noticed the sensation, but she did know that at some point it went from just another causal touch to something that made her eyes cross and belly tighten with lust. Such a little thing, but when every nerve ending in the omega's body seemed like it was wired specifically for his touch, it's very nearly a weapon. Ahana tried to recall her first impression of Lucas earlier that night, and her brain gave away nothing but smug asshole, so maybe its the wooziness in her gut and the several glasses of alcohol getting to her. Maybe a bit of his familiar scent, shapely biceps, or his dark hair falling in soft strands against his forehead. "You shouldn't have drank that glass of champagne." She blinked, "W-What?" "I asked do you know where your keys are?" "Yes..." Her tongue jutted out as she rummaged through the small pouch to extract a key. Before the omega could attempt, Lucas snatched it from her and pushed the key in. "I got it." Once inside, the Alpha slumped on the living room couch and Ahana fell easily next to him. He turned to blink at her. "Aren't you supposed to go to sleep now?" Ahana made a noise of protest, turning to him and clambered in his lap. He froze in his seat. She breathed out and made a dull sound. "Noooo," The omega lamented and moved up to nibble at the shell of his ear, rolling her hips a bit as if to gain friction. They sat like that for a while, conversing back and forth—mostly Lucas who asked her small questions and Ahana humming in response. At one point, the omega got interested in his hands. She held one up in front, inching back on his lap to inspect it properly between them "You know what they say about people-" Ahana started, a lilt in her voice, "with big hands, right?" The omega appeared excited, eyes gleaming in a mischievous way as she leaned close, ghosting her lips over his. "I have no idea..." "You liar!" Ahana whispered, and then drew back to giggle, smoothening her own delicate, thin fingers between his, rubbing the pads between the creases and space between the digits. She followed a vein with an index finger and tilted her head to look at the palm. "Baby..." Lucas made a low snarl when she leaned into the hand and rubbed her cheek against it, slowly dragging her face over the calloused surface, where the omega afterward traced her lips there, subsequently trailing her mouth up along one of the fingers. The Alpha jolted a bit and his shoulders squared with tension, fingers twitching slightly. He bared his teeth in a warning sign, upper lick doing a tick, but she ignored it and closed her eyes, kissing the fingertips softly, nibbling softly down the side of one. Ahana had a healthy flush of pink on her cheeks, brows thick but refined, arched as she purred. Lucas moved his hand to cup her cheek, digging a thumb into the corner of her mouth. At that, her lips parted slightly, and he traced the lower lip with his thumb – pressing it into the yielding softness, breath hitching when she darted a tongue out to give a little lick. Anyone would be a sucker for the look in her eyes - the blown pupils, those half-lidded eyes, and the sinful look gleaming there. He drew his forefinger and middle finger up to her lips, watching as she diligently opened her mouth, tongue pressed back, waiting. The Alpha dipped his finger, watching as they slid in between the lips. He rubbed the pads softly against her tongue but did nothing more, and she's the one who leaned forward, her eyes fluttering shut as she clamped her mouth around the digits. Ahana ran her tongue along the fingers while he moaned low in his throat and took more in. She swirled her tongue slowly around the digits and in between, and the wet sensation made the Alphas breathing turn ragged and another growl escapes his lips. He pressed his fingers down against the back of her tongue, watching as a low moan escaped her, cheeks hollowing a bit. Lucas started moving his fingers, f*****g her mouth slowly, and she followed the motion, eyes opening and doe-like as she looked up at him, rolling her hips to the pace too. She suddenly let go though and drew back with a wet pop, tongue jutting out to wet her lips. "P-Please f**k my mouth." ***
