I met Lyell at the benches in front of the school. I just wasn’t up to training this morning, so I used the excuse that I needed to get Beta Alarick his coffee and breakfast so Lyell wouldn’t see how weak I still was from the wolf’s bane cuts.
Lyell stared me down when he saw me, no doubt noticing the dark circles under my eyes and the pale skin color but since his appearance wasn’t much better he didn’t comment. I frown, looking down and biting my lip. I hated that he was so hurt and it was all my fault. Well, not exactly my fault, I didn’t ask Beta Alarick to like me, but I still felt awful over it just the same.
