The next morning Adaline woke me up with a knock on my door. I had been lost in a dream about Lexi. In the dream, I was playing the piano and she was singing along with me. It was probably something out of a tv show but it was beautiful, and I couldn’t help wanting to get a piano now, to see if she’d actually do it. Could she sing? Honestly, even if she was tone-deaf I’d probably still think it sounded like the most beautiful sound in the world simply because it was her singing. The knock sounded again and I got up, opening the door. I was instantly embarrassed to see Adaline standing there, wondering if there was some way she could tell I was dreaming about her daughter. Not that I was having a dirty dream about her...at least this time. Even still I was shy as she told me why
