‘What are we doing, Julien?’ Jude asked me as I stalked around corners and watched Jade. The morning had been havoc for us. I had to tell the principal that Axel was out of town with my father on a fishing trip and I had to try my best not to laugh over the absurdity of that. To picture the two of them hanging out and laughing with a couple of fishing poles in between them was hilarious. I know Jade told everyone that Colette was having a getaway with one of their dads, and Colt and Emmett were off hunting with their fathers. She was much better at lying than I was, then again it’s more believable that they all want to spend time with their fathers when Axel isn’t even given the proper last name.
