When the train started off again, Sacha could hardly believe that she was setting off alone on what she knew was a crazy adventure.
Ever since Deirdre had forced her to agree to take her place in Scotland with the Duke she had felt as if she was living in a dream and at any moment might wake up.
They had driven back to Langsworth Hall and, when Sacha saw the clothes that Hannah was packing for her into two huge leather trunks, she could hardly believe that they were to be hers.
“You cannot give me so much,” she had cried.
