Alex was so glad to be home but he was worried about some of the hits that Jane had taken tonight in the ring. Alex wished this assignment was over so that he could protect his mate. Watching her get hurt was not good for Alex or even his wolf.
Alex had just walked into the packhouse when a whirlwind of a little girl jumped into his arms. Alex almost dropped her but was able to hold on to her before he did that.
“Where have you been? No one was here when I woke up and I got scared. Don't ever leave me alone like that ever again.” Lily just kept talking without even letting Alex get a word in.
