Their Muted Love

Rose's POV "Rose… it's time for school." Mom's voice makes me look in the mirror one more time. The cut on my lips healed. But light stitch marks were visible to see like it happened yesterday. It makes my face ugly. I can't even show my face to others. This was a gift from them. And it keeps reminding me that I need to stay away from them. ' Come on, Rose! You can do it.' I put my black mask on and pick up my bags. As I walk down I see my best friend Kiran was there. Usually, I was the one waiting for him out of his house. But now he is here. "Rose, are you ready for the school?" He asked me with his bright smile. I wish to speak and tell him that I'm fully ready to face everything again. That incident trauma left ugly marks and took my voice, too. I show him a thumbs up. He smiles more. I walk to Mom and give her a goodbye kiss. "Don't forget your medicine, dear." Mom said with a smile. I just nodded and showed her a bottle of pills. I feel panic attacks if I stay alone in a dark place. These pills help to calm down. After that, we left for the school. Kiran brought his bike, he passed me a helmet but I snatched the bike key. "Are you sure you want to ride my bike?" Kiran asked in a worried tone. 'I'm a master of biking… Now shut up and let me drive.' I write on my iPad and show it to him. 'Fine. But keep the speed slow, I don't want to die early." He said in a teasing tone. I just show him my tongue playfully. I put my helmet on and sit on my bike. I started my bike and Kiran sat behind me, holding me by my shoulders. I drive full speed on the road. When you drive at full speed you are afraid of dying, right? But for me, I have never been afraid of dying. I see my death very closely. When the fear of death goes out of your mind, you become more dangerous. Like I have become carefree, fearless. And it is all because of those two. We take ten minutes each way to our school. I park the bike in the parking area. As the bike stopped, Kiran jumped like a kangaroo. "You almost killed me, Rose. Can't believe that I give you my bike in your hand. My poor bike is scared now." I heard Kiran's footsteps as he ran to me. I just smile softly. Suddenly a black sports car stopped in front of me. I jumped back in fear. "Rose, are you ok?" Kiran held me by the shoulder and asked. I show thumbs up and look back at the car. The back seat door opens and twin guys get out of the car. I heard some screams come from around. A group of girls run to two guys. They both are twins brothers Lucas Black and Marcus Black. They are the school's hot, rich and handsome boys. Everyone knows them as Black brothers. Every girl, even women, was attracted to their good looks. And they are also available for every girl. Like players. When I look back, I know them very well. The three of us grew up together. They are still standing there with lots of girls trying to get attention. Then Emily and Kiara walk in pulling girls apart as they had right on them. Twins look at them and smile.
