Chapter 4Thursday, February 16 My alarm doesn’t go off on Thursday and I’m startled awake by my neighbor’s slamming door ten minutes before I need to leave my apartment. I stress through the morning, hardly having time to breathe. I jog on slippery winter streets to the station, rush past the café, run down the escalator to the train already waiting on the platform, and jump on board just before the doors close.
