Chapter 3

I laid in the bathtub relaxing my head , it was so soothing after how exausted my body was .

Suddenly the water turned to blood I saw a dark hand reaching out to me from the tap, the water was bloody red and dark .It cant be real . The walls were cracking roaches began to pop out of the walls .

"Mom! " I cried .

She ran inside the bathroom.

I had covered myself as I stared frantically at the bathtub. Immediately she walked in everything went back to normal the bathtub was filled with bubbles and water, the walls were as white as snow . Nothing looked out of the ordinary .

"there was blood I saw it " I said .

"sweetie you need to stop watching The Conjuring ", she said .

I hate that she does not believe me . I am seeing things that are unreal I am not crazy something is triggering me to see all this things , it's not an imagination .

I still haven't figured how I managed to do a test in Thirty minutes submit it and return to sit .

" Get ready , we have to buy another microwave , the one we have has officially departed us ", she said.

I got dressed into a purple cardigan sweater , a pair of dark jeans and a pair of white sneakers .

"what brand are we going for this time " I asked as she took the car keys.

" am not sure yet , any that's not going to be like the last one ", she said .

We got into the car , she drove out of the compound.

" baby I need you to keep safe , there is a serial killer on the loose , dont speak to strangers or take anything from them . Goodness just when we thought this neighborhood was safe some Ted Bundy decides to show up" she said .

" what do you mean ? ", I asked .

"take my phone and scrolk to the gallery , you will see a video " She said .

I took her phone and scrolled to the video.

" that man was on the video , he is the suspected serial killer that killed the girls . The video was widely spread by Clare's mom incase anyone knows about the man they can inform her or the police " she said .

I clicked play .

My eyes widened.

The same man I saw at school that vanished , the same man I saw standing at the corner of my room, the same man I saw in the room while we played the Ouija board.

He sat on a circle with the girls but I wasn't on the video , he was the one moving the planchette . He was there the whole time.

The video went blank then came on to the dead girls bodies on the floor .

Then it went blank.

I looked at the time on the video . It was impossible to say I had left.I recall checking the time so we could stop playing the stupid game . I was there at the exact time and sat on the same spot . The man too checked his wrist.

" It was so close , thank God you didn't stay there for long. That man would have harmed you ",she said .

I clicked exit but accidentally swiped to images .

Images of my mom with different men displayed on the screen .

I was baffled .

She grabbed the phone from my hand .

" Mom who are those men you are with ?" I asked.

" they are no one " she said

" you promised you would never keep anything from me after Dad "I said .

The car speed increased .

" Why are you lying to me " I said angrily.

The car was going faster, she wasn't accelerating. I could see it in her expression she was beginning to get terrified .

" Sia ... stop " she said .

" You promised mom , you promised no more secrets ", I said in anguish .

The car was speeding like a formula 1 race car.

" Sia ." she said .

The angrier I got the faster the car sped .

The steering wheel turned to the other side of the road .

" Stop! ', I ordered .

The car came to a sudden halt on the pedestrian side .

The brakes screeched loudly.

I began to sob .

"mom am sorry" I cried .

She wrapped her hard all over me .

" it's okay baby , I am sorry I didn't tell you .I am so sorry I kept everything from you " she said .

My dad died in a tragic car accident, for months my mother didn't tell me. He was to come for my birthday party but lost control of his car and hit an incoming petroleum truck. He died instantly.

She would lie to me he was busy with work , he had travelled for business , she would write letters and pretend they are from him.

Until one day I overhead her conversation with her friend that she's keeping my father's death a secret from me .

I didn't speak to her for a month . She did what she thought was best , to protect me.

" I got a job in an escort agency , it pays well . We needed the money that's why I agreed to it .I want you to have a great life , I promised myself I would never let you go through the poverty I went through" she said .

My mom was pregnant with me at the age of 14 , she was in love with my dad , he accepted responsibility . They had to work to make a living to support me .

" it's okay mom , promise me you won't keep any more secrets from me " I said .

" I promise you baby " she said .

We embraced in a warm mommy daughter hug.

We bought a beautiful microwave from the mall and drive back home .

When we got home she couldn't wait to try it on and test if it was really worth the money .

The microwave was perfect .

" do they treat you with respect?", I asked .

" sometimes they do ,some don't.They just think because they pay you ,you are their toy to toss around" she said .

" someday you won't have to do that anymore" I said .

" I want you to be what I am not sweetie." she said .

" regardless of what you do I will always love you no matter what " I said.

" I love you too sweetheart .You are the best person in my life and nothing will ever change that fact" she said .
