MISSION STARTS

Its been two days since Sophia had been keeping watch on her Uncle all the time when he's in the house wandering around . George has been feeling lately that someone in the house is always keeping a watch on him . It's the day of the 30th morning , two more days till New Year .

Edward hasn't called Sophia since that day . Sophia has been feeling restless so she decided to call him . Right at that moement Harry , her dad was calling her from downstairs . She left the room in a hurry .

Downstairs she saw her Dad and Mom sitting in the sofa . Grandpa and Grandma had also arrived by then along with his Uncle . '' What happened what's all that ruckus about ?'' her Uncle asks . '' Cop Laxus has contacted me '' her Dad said .

'' What did he say ?'' Uncle asks . '' Yeah tell us '' says her Mom . '' He said that the forensics report says that Samuel was poisoned to death but there were marks around his neck as if he did suicide '' her Dad says .

'' Anything else ? did they find any fingerprints on his neck ?'' George asks . '' They didn't find any '' says her Dad '' they found out that he was poisoned to death only and the time of his death is around twelve past forty five , i guess they were doing party at home at this time '' .

'' Sophia wasn't at that time at home was she ?'' asks her Mom . '' No i wasn't '' says Sophia . '' So ,she wasn't at home at that time ?'' asks her Uncle . '' I was at a party at my friends place and stayed the night there '' Sophia sterly replies .

'' Oh ! did you allowed that Brother ?'' Uncle asks . '' Yes , we had a lot of fight after that '' her mom retorts agngrily . '' Still you allowed that ? '' George asks . '' Yes , cause it was christmas and she had said that she will arrive by night thats' why i had permitted her '' replies her Dad .

'' Then why did you arrived in the morning ?'' George demands . '' We don't know everyone had fallen asleep there and woken up all hazy in the morning '' Sophia remarks . '' I see , anyway did the cop said anything else ?'' George asks .

'' No nothing else , they didn't find any fingerprints on the treasure or else that would have given us a clue , he had said that he will interrogate all the people at the party where you were Sophia '' her dad states .

'' When ?'' she asks . '' Tomorrow '' her Dad replies . '' I see will he come here ?'' she asks . '' Yes he will , he's planning to interrogate you personally , will come tomorrow in the morning stay at home then '' Dad says to her . '' Sure '' Sophia replies .

'' Anyway i have something to talk about with you '' , says Sophia' s Grandpa . '' What is it ?'' asks her Dad . '' The thing is tomorrow there is the New years eve and one of my friends have invited me to New Years Eve party and have told all of my family members to come what should i do about it ?'' her Grandpa asks .

'' Well .... '' her Dad paused . '' I think we should all go to cheer ourselves up at the party regarding this atmosphere and all '' suggests George . '' But ... '' her Dad stutters . '' How can we enjoy ourselves in this situation ?'' her Mom shouts .

'' Cause of this situation , i want all of us to enjoy at the party '' says George '' we need to get over this grief and all '' . '' But how can we forget that our son had died and now we will enjoy ourselves at the party ? how can we do that ?'' her mom sarcastically remarks .

'' We have to get over this grief and free our hearts and minds Samuel has died and we don't know who had killed him , so we have to get over this and enjoy ourselves '' her Uncle retorts .

'' You can't understand what i feel , not even Harry can' t understand what i feel cause he's not his own son so only i can understand what i feel , any of you can't understand what i feel '' laments her mom .

'' What are you saying ? he's my son no matter even if we are not blood related , still i care for him ''' says her Dad . '' But still only i love and care for him the most so untill we find out who has killed my son i can't enjoy myself at the party '' her mom denies .

'' Do as you want we all will go Mom and Dad , George and Sophia '' says her Dad . '' But your wife doesn't want to then i don't feel like going '' says her Grandma .

'' No we will all go if she wants she can stay behind '' her Dad says angrily . '' Dad , don't get angry at her you can understand her condition right ? '' Sophia pleads . '' Yes , i can but what she's doing is outrageous why can't we try to forget about Samuel ? he's dead right ?'' her Dad shouts out in anger .

'' Calm down '' says Grandma . '' It's all because of that woman , i shouldn't' have had married her when Ceres had passed away i could have raised her myself '' her Dad retorts . '' She's one fine woman only she cares too much about her dead son '' George , her Uncle remarks .

'' Her behaviour is getting worse day by day , what the heck is wrong with her ?''' says Dad . '' Stop blaming her , you can understand what she's feeling ''' says George . '' If she doesn't' want to go she can stay behind '' says Grandpa .

'' We will go without her '' says her Grandma . '' We will go in the evening around 7pm get ready everyone by then '' says Grandpa . '' I am sorry i can't go i am going to a different party one of my friends is hosting it my bad i can't come '' George remarks .

'' Sure then , Sophia , me and your grandma and Harry , we all are going then '' says Grandpa . George , her uncle left after that . Harry had went too . '' Grandma , should i help you with your cooking ?'' asks Sophia .

'' It's no problem i will manage ,but not having the maids around is a nuisance after all '' her Grandma sighs . '' True , we can't tell them to come untill the cop allows them to '' Sophia says . '' He's coming to interrogate you , but i know you can't do something like that , my poor lady'' says her Grandma cupping her face .

'' I know anyway , i have no motive for killing Samuel so i am not worried at all '' says Sophia . '' I know , you don' hate him as your mother says , anyway you go back to your room i will make some snacks for you to eat '' her Grandma says with a smile on her face .

Sophia nods and goes upstairs . She goes to her room and closes the door , sits on her bed and calls Edward . After ringing for two times Edward picked up . '' Hey , it's been a long time Sophia '' he replies . '' I should be the one to say that where were you all these while ?'' she asks with a grunt .

'' My bad , it's just i caught fever and i am only feeling good today so i wanted to call you and what a coincidence you called '' says he . '' I see , so how's your fever now? are you good enough to talk ?'' asks she .

'' Sure i am '' he replies . '' Should i go visit you ?'' she asks . '' Yes , you can but will it be alright with you ?'' he asks . ''' Yes , it will be i can go today cause tomorrow the cops will interrogate me and at night we are going to new years old party , so i am preoccupied with work '' she remarks .

'' I see , everyone is going ?'' he asks . '' Yes , Grandma , Grandpa , Dad and my Uncle George who came back a while ago '' she replies . '' George ? i think i heard that name , how does he look ?'' he asks . '' Welll ...... my Uncle is travelling most of the time here and there but he cam back home hearing about Samuel's death '' she remarks .

'' I see , i think i may have known him '' he replies . '' So are you coming tomorrow ?'' he asks . '' Yes i am coming at the evening then '' she replies . '' I will be waiting for you then '' he says . '' I will bring handmade cookies for you but i forgot to ask where do you stay ?'' she asks .

'' Thirty minutes from your home '' he replies . '' From the narrow lane at the bakery the four storied building flat ''' . '' I will call you if i can't find then '' she tells . '' Sure '' he replies '' see you at the evening then '' says he .

'' Yeah , take rest then '' she says . '' I will , love you babe ''he hangs up . Sophia blushes at the sight . ''' Such a free spirit isn't he ?'' she remarks . Grandma comes in her room . '' With whom were you talking with ?'' she asks .

'' Grandma ..... i ... '' Sophia pauses . '' Who is that ? your boyfriend ?'' she demands . '' Yes , he's my boyfriend i love him '' she replies . '' I see , '' she sighs . '' So even my little girl has a boyfriend now '' her Grandma remarks .

She sits down onto her bed and puts the tray onto the table . '' Aren't you mad at me ? '' Sophia asks . '' Why would i ? i am glad for you ,is he a good guy ? what's his name ?'' her Grandma asks .

'' He's Edward Williams , the only guy at college who talks with me '' she replies . '' And he looks so handsome '' she exclaimed . '' You really seem to love him , i am glad '' she says . '' What were you talking about with him ?'' her Grandma asks .

'' He has fever and i am planning on going to see him in the evening '' says Sophia looking at her Grandma . '' Don't you worry you can go '' she says . '' Thank you , i really appreciate it grandma '' she hugs her .

'' You deserve to be happy , your step mom won't let you be happy , so you should free yourself from her '' Grandma says . '' He's the only person i have seen who likes me only for my money and wealth , he really loves me '' she remarks .

'' Hope you are happy , anyway eat these up i am going to make lunch for all '' says her Grandma . 'Sophia holds her hand stopping her to go . '' No please stay here , it's been a while since we had spent so much time together '' she says .

'' But , what about cooking ?'' her Grandma asks . '' That can wait , for the time being let's talk and spend quality time with each other '' says Sophia hugging her . '' Why do you seem so childish now ? you are an grown up girl right ?'' her Grandma says soothing her by patting her head .

Her Dad was passing by her room that time and he heard them talking . ''' Grandma , please stay here forever i really miss you , mom doesn't talk with me at all '' Sophia says . '' I will ask your Grandpa if he agrees then i will stay behind '' replies her Grandma .

Overhearing their conversation , her dad gets even more angry at her Mom . He leaves that instant . '' Let's go make lunch now '' her Grandma says . Sophia nods and they both head over to the kitchen together .

'' Where is Grandpa now ?'' she asks peeling the vegetables together . '' He went to meet his old friends together he will come back around lunch . At this time her Mom comes down . She seems quite dressed up . '' Where are you going ?'' Sophia asks coming near her .

'' I have some work will come back around evening '' her Mom sternly replies and leaves . After a while George comes down . '' I AM LEAVING WILL COME BACK AROUND THE Evening '' George says and leaves .

'' Everyone seems to be in a hurry '' Grandma remarks . '' They do '' Sophia replies . Harry comes down also but he doesn't seem to be going somewhere . He comes to the table and sits down . '' Where are others ?'' he asks .

'' Mom said she has some work , Uncle has some work , Grandpa went to meet his friends and here we are '' Sophia remarks . '' I see , this house seems pretty much quiet '' her Dad remarks . '' It has been always quiet but Samuel used to quarrel with you a lot and Mom used to defend him '' Sophia retorts .

'' I do remember it's only been until recently that he was quarreling with me to start up his business '' her Dad says with a sigh . '' I remember , but i hadn't thought that someone would kill him out of spite '' says Sophia .

''' That poor boy '' says Grandma . '' Anyway eat up , you people , i have prepared curry for you all '' her Grandma says . '' Let's eat together '' Sophia says . ''I just love curry '' her Dad says .

They spend the rest of the afternoon together .
