CHAPTER 15
It had been a week since the battle and births of the pixie/Phoenix babies. Once Dwarden was gone, they all worked to get everyone out of there. Dain had picked an unconscious Kerrick up, not an easy task, and had brought his mate back to his home, laying him on Dain’s big bed. With the power inside him, he knew Kerrick would be alright. Taking a direct hit from an energy blast like that could be painful and knock you on your ass for a few hours, but Kerrick would be fine.
He and Rune sat be Kerrick’s bedside once again as they watched over their mate, but this time, instead of sitting on opposite sides, they sat side-by-side. They had spent the whole night talking and Dain was surprised to find that not only did he and Rune have so much in common, but Rune could be pretty fun
