Ayden was tempted to have dinner with his mate, but he was one stubborn son of a b***h. The raging battle within himself was enough to keep him occupied. He didn't have to add Sasha to the mix, well not yet anyway. The human part of his mind was in total denial of having a mate whilst his wolf was all for it.
"Surely you can understand why I am against it?" Ayden argued with his wolf.
"And surely you can see that she would fit perfectly in our world. Now stop denying the obvious and let's go see her!" was his wolf's response.
Without giving it too much thought, he made his way to her bedroom door. He didn't bother knocking as he entered the room. At first, he was confused. The curtains had been drawn and the room was in darkness. He could see her bags were untouched at the foot of the bed but where was she? He listened carefully but there was not a sound. He went over to the large window and pulled back the curtain, spilling the room with flashes of moonlight. He hadn't even realized that it was so late already.
"Possibly at dinner?" he asked aloud and with that, he made his way back the way he had come, only this time he was listening for any sounds. He paused. Nothing. Utter silence. Not even the irritating laugh of his sister was to be heard. Suddenly he saw Lilly, one of the helpers he had assigned to Sasha.
"Lilly," he called out to her, she spun towards him and he noticed she had some clothing in her arms. He took a step closer trying to make out what it was she was doing. She had her head bowed in respect.
"What is the meaning of this?" he asked her, pointing to the bundle.
"Its Miss Sasha's." came the whisper.
"Why on earth-" he stopped realizing she must have wolfed out and Lilly had her clothing.
"Make sure to be ready with her dress when she is done parading around." and with that, he turned and went back to his office. Not only was he annoyed but his wolf wanted to be in charge and go 'parading' with her.
"Enough of this!" he hollered. He hated to be at war with his wolf, but he couldn't just pretend that for the last ten years, he had been alone and in charge. Now with him finding his mate, he didn't actually want anything to change. He had seen his father's demise when he had found his mate and he wasn't going to allow that to happen with him. Having a mate was the greatest weakness an alpha could have. The way things were going, his pack was quickly becoming the strongest and the most terrifying. This was something he had been wanting since he had become alpha. His pack respected and honored him and he was completely committed to his pack. He would commit to Sasha as his partner but he couldn't accept her as his mate. In fact, the quicker he rejected her the better it would be. He shook his head, he should have rejected her earlier when she had demanded him too. Having made up his mind and his wolf silent, he went back up to her room and stood before the window, awaiting her arrival.

Sasha was free. Running as fast as she could, her breathing controlled as she jumped over a rock. The night wind was softly breezing through her pure white fur. As she neared the mansion she spotted Lilly. She moved gracefully towards her and shifted back into her human form. Lilly bowed her head and held out a white robe. Sasha smiled and slipped it on. Loving the soft silk against her naked flesh.
"Thank you, Lilly, you can go." she dismissed her and slowly began making her way back to her room. When she had rushed off earlier she hadn't taken much notice of her surroundings. But after having a good cry and wolf run, she felt a lot better. She had found her mate and he was either going to mark her and make her his, or she would demand to be rejected and to be free of him. Finally reaching her room, she didn't notice him standing there, but she smelt him and her senses fired up. Her wolf was howling with delight at him being here but Sasha was guarded.
"Did you enjoy yourself?" He asked her. She couldn't make out his expression or his tone so she just nodded, now aware of the fabric clinging to her skin. She saw him look her up and down and did she imagine the flash of approval?
"We need to talk. This arrangement would have gone just fine, but now that the goddess has deemed us to be mates, it has become complicated." she listened carefully as he spoke, he had turned slightly away from her and she longed for him to stop this nonsense and kiss her. She took a step towards him, and he turned quickly to look at her with sharp warning eyes.
"Do not tempt me, Sasha. I told you I do not want nor need a mate."
"How can you even have to think about this? We are mates! Do you not want me?" She watched in amazement as the emotions crossed his features, shock, lust, confusion and finally anger.
"Are you bad at listening? I said I do not want-"
"This is utter bullshit!" she interrupted him. "Reject me then and let me be free. Find another pack to form an alliance with." She folded her arms, unknowingly pulling the fabric tighter against her breasts. He noticed though and his eyes went dark, in a flash he was in front of her, his head bent down against her neck, his strong hands placed on her sides. She shivered with delight as he breathed in her scent. She arched her neck inviting him and he didn't hesitate as he licked her slowly. She moaned as the tingling sensations flowed through her body. She leaned into him as he made his way from her neck to her lips. Their first kiss was explosive. The taste of him was something she had never experienced before. She unfolded her arms and wrapped them around his neck. She could feel his arousal against her hip and this made her moan into his mouth. This also seemed to snap him back to reality. For as quickly as he was there, it was as quickly as he left her. Her whole body shook. She looked around but he had vanished. She sighed in frustration and slipped off the robe. She climbed into bed and touched her sensitive spot. Feeling the heat there, she moaned. He had left her with an ache she couldn't quite describe. The tears fell as she silently cried. Sleep was not far off, as the toll of the day took hold.
