The next morning I woke up I took a shower and dressed. I exited the room and walked to my dad’s room. He didn’t sleep I know it. So I knocked on the door and the faint scent of fresh apples drifted up my nose. To my surprise my mom opened the door
“Mom!” I exclaimed and scooped her up in a hug. She laughed and hugged me back
“Hey honey! Surprise” she squealed and I lifted her up squeezing her tightly but then I heard her make a pained noise so I put her down quickly.
“Sorry, wait what the hell happened to you?” I asked concerned looking at her bruised face, she had cuts on her arms and hands and she winced a bit stepping back.
