Chapter 12

Sayra

" Benitez " his familiar voice caught me off guard. I looked at the door's direction and found him leaning on it while his arms are crossed above his chest. He's looking around the room and I know who is he looking for.

" He's not here, he went down just before you came " I answered while sitting on the bed with my back leaning on the headboard.

His eyes narrowed while looking at me as if he doesn't believe what I said.

" What?" I asked him annoyed. He rolled his eyes at me and just stared at me intently. I looked away thinking that he'll go after a few seconds but he didn't instead he just kept on staring at me making me uncomfortable.

" What do you need Officer?" I asked him trying to mask the annoyance in my tone. He smirked at me and then stood properly as he put his hands on his pockets.

This guys is so unbothered. Look at him wear a pair of sweatpants and shirt while on his duty. I shook my head secretly .

He took a step forward making me panic slightly. Why is he walking towards me? Lucas is not here.

" W-What? Lucas is not here, do you need something from me?" I said panicking but trying to act tough.

He raised his eyebrow at me and then clicked his tongue. His playful grin faded and he's now looking at me with his serious face.

" Just for your information, Miss Miguel , you're here to cooperate with the investigation in exchange of your protection and parole -" he stated emphasizing every words making me clueless.

What the hell is he talking about? Obviously I know those things. I raised my eyebrow at him and then opened my mouth to talk when he suddenly added something making me stop midway.

" - you're not here to flirt and seduce guys just because of your s****l needs or any reason. We don't need a hoe like you at this situation" he said while gritting his teeth making me out of words.

I stared at him unbelievably as I felt invisible knives stabbing my chest because of his harsh words. I closed my mouth and then chuckled bitterly while looking away.

I can feel my eyes watering but I won't let him get satisfaction from hurting me. He's no one and I don't care about what he says and think of me.

I kept my chin up and then looked at him blankly. I smirked at him while he looked surprised.

He opened his mouth to say something again but I raised my uninjured hand to stop him from talking.

" I'm not seducing him and I don't have any interest in anyone who's inside this house " I said fiercely without blinking.

He kept quiet with an unexplainable emotion in his eyes. I smirked secretly, you won't see me break down.

" It's not my fault that he's seduced even if I'm not trying" I whispered softly and then slowly positioned my self on the bed to rest.

I looked up at him while he's looking at nowhere, his eyebrows furrowed deeply as if he's thinking about something.

I fake a cough and to get his attention. I smiled at him . He looks so lost and I can feel the satisfaction rushing through me.

" I'm going to rest Officer and no I'm not seducing you " I said softly making him speechless.

I almost laughed at his reaction. Why did he suddenly got quiet? Tsk, I thought he can say more .

" Sayra- "

" Hoe " I cut him off making him look at me unbelievably. He stood there frozen on the spot while I'm laying comfortably on the bed.

I smiled innocently at him and pointed out to myself with my uninjured hand.

" I'm Hoe, remember? " I stated emphasizing the fact that he called me on that name.

Redon seems totally lost and clueless of what he should do and I'm loving his reactions. Why? Is he afraid that I'll report this to their superiors? Hmm, is he afraid that he'll get punishment from harassing a witness?

"Don't worry I won't tell this to your superiors, I'm honored that you thought I was seducing you guys so- "

" What? Honored for what- " He asked me while looking like he's having a hard time.

I playfully winked at him and then spoke.

" My s*x appeal must be so strong that you thought I'm trying to seduce him , that's a very nice compliment you know?" I giggled making him look at me without knowing what to do.

He sighed frustratedly and then quickly walked out if the room with heavy steps. He slammed the door making me flinch slightly but it made me chuckle as soon as he's out of my sight.

" Ugh all guys are worthless and shitty " I whispered to myself as I stare intently at the ceiling.

I kept a smile on my face not until I felt a cold wet thing dripping down on my cheeks. I quickly wiped my tears and inhaled deeply to stop myself.

He's just like them. I thought he's somehow different but it's wrong. I closed my eyes and think about Kyla.

How come you still believe in love after we both experienced things like this huh? Why do we keep on hoping that someone out there is different from the rest? Look at you now, selling your body to feed him.

I chuckled bitterly and then shook my head. I won't do the same mistake Kyla have made. I already gave up on men many years ago. I opened my eyes and then inhaled deeply.

Love is real but I won't find it with men.

" Good morning Miss Miguel " Lucas' cheerful voice greeted me as soon as I opened the door.

I don't use my wheelchair anymore and it's already two days when we arrived here. Redon? I never seen him from that time and I don't really care about him anymore.

" Morning Officer Lucas " I greeted back.

Lucas is the one who's always here in the mansion to accompany me. He stated that there are different guards guarding the place and it's totally safe for me. I don't understand why do they have to let me stay in this grand house but I'm lucky to be here.

Kyla's still missing , there are no bodies found and I'm hoping that they're just hiding too . I'm worried but I need to keep on track and focus on the investigation. We need to catch Lupo as soon as possible for me and Kyla to be free.

They offered me that they'll set me free once I cooperate and they catch Lupo. It's a very nice deal , it's like hitting two birds with one stone.

" Oh the others are here today " Lucas spoke making me stop from walking slowly.

" What?" I asked him even if I understand what he said.

Does he mean Officer Redon and Officer Bonito?

" They're here to plan the raid " he answered making my eyes widen in shock.

" Y-You found Lupo?" I asked him with trembling voice.

" Yes, thank you for your information. Obviously not in the place that you told us but using the other evidence and clues we managed to secure a location " he explained making me gasp in happiness.

Damn, damn, damn finally.

" Are you sure this is Lupo's syndicate?" I asked him full of hope.

" We can't be 100 percent sure but there's a high chance that this is it, but we may not catch Lupo in that raid " he answered making me confused.

As if he knows what on my mind, Lucas sighed and then looked at me seriously.

" If Lupo is the head of the syndicate just like how you know then there's a high possibility that we'll on catch his men but if we catch them then it means more leads, clues and evidences. It'll accelerate the process of the investigation " he explained making me nod my head.

I was about to say something else when a familiar built caught my attention. I stared at him seriously, he's sitting on the couch while looking at nowhere.

He's still as handsome as ever but unlike before that I feel butterflies in my stomach while looking at him , now all I feel about him is hate and disappointment.

Hoe, that's what he called me two days ago and that's enough for me to know that he's just like the rest of guys. Selfish, horny and disrespectful.

" We're here " Lucas announced making everyone look at our direction. Despite of the number of people that are here today, the only person that my eyes are fixated to is the green eyed jerk who's now staring at me with visible sadness in his eyes.
