"May I ask what business does Mr. Han has to my wife?" he asked in a calm voice but it is clear in his tone that he was demanding an answer.
Mr. Han felt himself tremble under that dark gaze, "N-nothing at all Sir, I was only greeting M-Mr. Bei."
He knew that Mr. Liu was superior even though he was older. Liu Corp. acquired their company and is ordered to use necessary terms in addressing the superior.
Jeremy stiffly smiled, "Is that so but I believe you need to spare enough space when talking to someone married." he said coldly
Mr. Han gulped seeing that all eyes are on him. "R-Right, Sir is right. It's my mistake."
Jeremy smiled again and took Rein with him, his arm wrapped around his waist.
Mierin could only follow behind giving enough space away from the two.
Jeremy reached for his chin as they walk out of the place, "Whenever I take my eyes off you you're always wandering around playing with trash."
Rein pulled his chin away and glared at him, "Take your hands off of me." if he ever struggle free from Jeremy it would surely take attention again.
"Nope, we're invited to have dinner with the Fargon's so you'll need to stick with me to avoid another commotion," he said
"Just why are you so naughty." He added
Rein couldn't take it anymore and as they reached the car he immediately pulled away from him.
But Jeremy was too bored and seeing his spouse being too stubborn as usual, he pulled his chin again and kissed him fiercely.
Rein shot his eyes widened and aggressively pushed him away.
"Are you crazy?!" glaring, he exclaimed and hurriedly went inside the car, he shut the car door loud enough to hear his anger.
Jeremy's secretary and Mierin could only avert their gaze when they kissed and seeing that they fought again after that, they hung their head low.
No one could understand them well.
The car drove towards a 5-star restaurant just in the premises of the Fargon's industry area where the Fargons and its VIP guests are currently waiting.
Rein avoided Jeremy all the way and when they entered the sophisticated restaurant, they were welcomed by a row of waiters and managers.
"This way please." one of the managers lead them on the second floor, towards the private quarters where special personalities that Fargon treats highly could have access only.
As soon as they reached the room, they saw a big round table full of varied dishes where 8-10 people were sitting quietly. Upon noticing that someone arrived, they all turned their heads towards them.
Mr. Fargon was the first one who stood, "Mr. Liu!" he brightened but his voice became mellow when he greeted Rein, "Mr. Bei."
Rein bowed lightly as a response then slowly turned to Jeremy, his expression telling him, asking why there are so many people.
Jeremy could only smile back at him then pull him forward.
"Sorry for being late, I need to fetch my bunny there," he said as they sat
The mood seemingly brightened upon his arrival, one woman responded, "Such a doting husband Mr. Liu."
Jeremy chuckled, "Everyone should be a doting husband."
They started to chit-chat leaving Rein on the conversation which he didn't mind since he couldn't catch up with their fake smile and all fake pleasing gestures.
"Ah, I hope my Taylor could marry someone like you." Mr. Fargon said turning to the beautiful figure beside him
"He's been busy with his career overseas and is planning to settle down, how I hope you could have met him earlier!" he then laughed loudly
"It's not too late right?" he then laughed again which made the room occupied by awkwardness.
The guest's smile stiffened and Taylor could only hang his head low, wanting to cover his ears.
Even Rein stared at him in full disbelief not because of what he said but he can't believe that someone so shameless could act like that. Taylor haD been so gentle and smart in his memories but he didn't think his father would be like this.
Mr. Fargon saw Rein's disbelief and faked a cough, "I didn't mean it that way Mr. Bei please don't make that face." he wanted to put him in a hot seat.
Everyone turned to Rein even Jeremy.
And in that moment Rein finally snapped and blurted, wanting to make his stance, "It's okay Mr. Fargon I'm sure Mr. Liu thought it too." his tone was plain as if stating a fact.
There was a more deafening silence in the room. Everyone knew that they were in an arranged marriage, that this couple didn't love each other but it's different when you hear it upfront.
Rein didn't dare to look at Jeremy, he could feel some strange aura coming from him but he was contented with what he did. After all, they're gonna be separated soon.
Someone coughed again.
Rein wondered if some virus was spreading.
The one who spoke tried to clear the heavy atmosphere and said, "This restaurant had the most delicious dishes in the country please, let's enjoy ourselves."
Everyone didn't utter any word as they ate.
Rein loves seafood so he helped himself with those but he saw his favorite reddish lobster dipped in chili sour sauce was on Jeremy's plate, he has been staring at it and could only click his tongue silently as he focus on his food.
Suddenly, he saw Jeremy carefully take the whole part of the lobster and placed it on his plate.
Rein frowned and turned to him, "What's this?"
"Lobster?"
"I know but why did you put it here?" he asked
"Because you kept looking at it?" Jeremy answered flatly
Rein flushed red from shame but reprimanded, "That doesn't mean I want it."
Jeremy smirked, "So you're saying...when a person gives you a love letter and says that it doesn't mean that she likes you, you think you could believe that?" he said acting as if wondering
But Rein refuted, "Maybe he was just delivering the letter from someone."
Jeremy was amused, "Then do you mean you were delivering someone's crave as you look at the lobster?"
"What?" Rein asked in confusion
"We're talking about the lobster," Jeremy stated
Rein's forehead wrinkled caused by his intense frowning feeling as if he was shut off by his hateful opponent. He couldn't reply!
The guests have stopped eating the moment the two started talking and they were all confused about what's the essence of that simple talk. Taylor also stared at them in a strange expression.
When they're done eating lunch and it's time for their dessert, Mr. Fargon invited all of the guests to sightsee on the balcony in the hallway since the view is nice there.
"Are you coming?" Jeremy asked Rein but the man refused.
Jeremy grinned, "Are you feeling down because of the lobster talk?"
Rein flashed a murderous glare at him.
He laughed before he left.
The moment he noticed that everyone was gone, he took his cellphone and called Lin.
It immediately reached him, "Hi~~" Lin's soft voice rung on his ear
"How are you?" he asked
"Mm... I'm fine but my heart isn't." the man replied on the other line
Rein chuckled expecting the answer as he asked, "Why?"
"Because I couldn't get out even a second from work," Lin replied, and hearing that Rein was silent not expecting the words he wanted to hear, Lin chuckled.
"Of course I miss you," he said finally
Rein finally beamed a smile and said, "I miss you so much..."
Lin smiled, "How about you come here later? Our work isn't still finished but you can come so that I could check up on you."
"I'll get some food for you okay?"
"Okay~"
"I know you're busy so I'll see you later okay?" Rein said
"Love you." He added
Lin giggled, "Okay love you so much!"
Rein was finally contented as he heaves a relief while sitting there alone.
"Rein?" someone suddenly called him from behind
Rein turned to look and saw Taylor standing by the door.
He was elegant as ever.
"You didn't go together with them?" Rein asked.
Taylor shook his head and walked towards him, "It's all about business, I couldn't catch up at all."
Rein felt him, "Did you quit your career there?" he asked
As far as he knows, Taylor wanted to pursue making jewelry while playing opera and he became one overseas.
Then he took a glimpse of a silver necklace just by Taylor's neck.
It looks so familiar...
"No, I just made a visit but father suddenly asked me to be with him today," he said as he sat at the chair beside Rein.
"It's uncomfortable. Smiling back and forth."
Rein chuckled, he felt him. "It's okay and you're natural so just endure a little bit."
Taylor smiled and didn't utter any more words making Rein feel the awkward silence occupying the room.
Since he has been a 'friend' in the past, he wanted to let him feel comfortable so he gathered all his courage and turned to Taylor as he said,
"You look so stunning as ever."
"I miss you."
They both shot wide-eyed as they uttered those words in the chorus.
