JADEN’S POV I watched her, shock evident on my person, and wondered if it was the same Dalma I knew. This person seemed like a new person, with almost nothing to lose. Yet, I knew she had a lot at stake. She stood there, her breath coming in fast and hard. She waited for my response, her stance made it clear. “Hand in your resignation letter before the end of tomorrow,” I simply said. Her head reared backwards. I could see that my response shocked her. “You mean I should…. It's okay to?” she asked, obviously surprised by my nonchalance. If only she knew how fast my heart drummed against my chest. “Yes, well, I can't force you to be an employee here. You can hand in your resignation letter,” I repeated. She looked at me for a long moment. “My contract with you is over too,” she said.
