Ren took an involuntary step towards them, but the man with him stopped him. His eyes darkened and his fists tightened at his sides. his face hardened in rage Okafu could feel all the way on the dance floor.
uhh…oh my…Okafu felt she should pull away from Kane. But why?
He was nothing to her. He was just a man she met today and he gave her a lift. Nothing more.
But the look…Okafu pulled away from Kane. Her heart hammered in her chest and she could feel a panic attach coming on. Her breath came in shallow gasps. She needed to get out of there.
“Hey…what’s happening?” Kane stared down at her, his hands smoothed down her arms as he leaned closer to whisper in her ear. “Is everything okay?”
“I need to go home.” Okafu said turning to where she left Lina. She didn’t even look behind her to see if Kane was following her or not.
Ren watched Okafu walk away from the guy, which was a good thing because he wasn’t sure if he could control himself any longer. He wanted to rip him from limb to limb, and he wasn’t known for denying himself anything.
“f**k!” Ren growled. He turned away from Paul and stomped back to his office. The door slammed behind him and he heard it open again as Paul walked in.
“Find out where he lives,” Ren said through clenched teeth.
“You’re not going to kill him.” Paul said and walked to the chairs in front of the desk and sat down with a sigh. “You can’t go around killing every man she comes in contact with.”
“Why not?” Ren’s eyes blazed with anger as he turned to stare at him. He’ll kill every stupid man that dared to touch what was his. He’d done it before he could do it again.
“Because it’s not business,” Paul shook his head as if Ren has lost his mind.
“You’re right, its personal. And I’ll do anything to protect what is mine.”
“You need to stick to the plan. You’ll rock the boat if you move to quickly, and you and I know that the ripples will bring sharks.” Paul stared at him pointedly.
Fuck…of course he knew the fucken risks and the enemies who would come at the scent of his weakness.
She was his weakness.
Ren rubbed his temples feeling a headache come on.
Shit… his temples throbbed.
He didn’t need a repeat of the past. He just wanted was his.
Hasn’t he suffered enough living without her?
“Okay, we stick to the plan.” Ren turned back to the window. He stared at the crowd downstairs. His heart lurched painfully in his chest, because he couldn’t go to her. He could hold her the way he wanted. He had to watch another man touch her.
“Make sure she gets home safely.”
“Sure, boss.” Paul got to his feet and walked to the door.
“And Paul,” Paul came to a stop at the door. “Find out where he lives.”
“Of course, boss.” Paul walked out the door. This was going to go to s**t sooner than he’d thought.
