Ren watched the crowd gyrating to the music downstairs through the class window that made up most of his office. The class window was tint and thick so he could see them and hear some of the music playing in the club. There was so much joy and revelry on the crowd faces as they gave themselves over to the music, alcohol and some drugs. Not that he allowed any drugs in his club, but he knew most of his customers smuggled them in just to have a good time.
Ren couldn’t remember the last time he’d allowed to let go and have fun.
He’d felt a dash of it when he was with her… Ren’s hands tightened into fists at the thought of Okafu.
He was supposed to stay away from her, but he couldn’t do it anymore. Not after so many years apart from her… many years of being forced to stay away from her.
She’s mine…
Ren clenched his jaw feeling the possessive feelings he’d had to keep in control, and allow her to sit there in his car without touching her – not pull her into his lap, kiss her, f**k her…fucken devour her. He’d thought she would remember him, remember what she was to him, but she didn’t.
She sat there all innocent and alluring – sexy as f**k.
Ren felt his body vibrate with need. His whole body twitched from desire. His vision of the swarming bodies downstairs blurred.
Fuck! It’s been too long.
Calm down, Ren, she’ll be yours soon, he said himself.
There was a knock at the door. Ren didn’t turn around as it opened slowly.
“Did everything go as planned?” Ren asked without turning. He knew it was his best friend turned bodyguard. He knew the man’s every footstep ever since they became friends years ago, from rather unfortunate circumstances that could have ceded hate in the heart of many. But it brought them together. They have been friends ever since. Paul refused to leave his side and Ren had no choice but to give him the bodyguard job.
“Yes. Her father came to the bank.” Paul walked closer to him.
“Did the manager offer him the loan as we discussed?”
“Yes.” Paul said. And then came to stand in front of him. Ren shifted his eyes to stare at Paul. He could see the disapproval clear in his eyes. “Is this the best way to handle this?”
“Yes.” Ren moved away from him to stand closer to the window he could feel it vibrate from the music. He stared down at the crowd drowning out Paul’s words. He couldn’t listen to any of Paul’s doubts and warnings. He needed to do this. He needed her back.
This was the only way.
Ren frowned as something below caught his eye.
“What the f**k?” Ren placed his hand on the glass. He couldn’t believe what he was looking at. What was she doing here?
“What?” Paul came closer to him. “Oh shit.” He shook his head. He tracked Okafu and some girl as they made their way through the throng of people. He heard the door slam shut and turned to find Ren gone. “Oh s**t…shit…of course I was praying for an eventful night.” He commented to the empty room rushing to follow Ren downstairs. There was no telling what that possessive motherfucker would do.
