The sun blazed overhead as Lucian's boat gently rocked at the harbor, the sound of water lapping against its sides. Lucian stood at the edge, extending his hand out to help the next passenger disembark. His fingers twitched with anticipation, and there was a subtle arrogance in his eyes, knowing very well who was about to disembark.
Laura and Leonard, who had already stepped onto the pier, exchanged knowing glances. They'd seen the intentions of Lucian. Laura whispered to Leonard, her voice just a hint of amusement, "Here we go again."
They knew he no longer doubted Meirah’s identity but there were still traces of them in his heart. Was he trying to make sure whether her wolf would respond or not?
Leonard chuckled, "Doesn't he ever get tired?" Laura just narrowed her eyes at Lucian.
