Doctor Part 2

Till that time he Keeps  few strong men to guard him and to see  no one disturbs him . The intern’s are worried for their team mates .They continue with their medical  check ups and giving knowledge on personal hygiene to the ladies .Their only intention is now to finish their medical  camp and return to the city. As they are finding it very spooky and seeing their senior’s condition they just want to finish their mission as fast as they can.After few days Ammai is brought to see Dr.Desh she is a very old lady may be 85 years old but no one is sure about her age . Dr. Desh is made to sit on a chair and all the village elders  and the head have surrounded them .

Ammai comes walking very slowly, helped by two of her relatives , she has long shiny gray  hair  and many ivory bangles upto her shoulder. Many  anklets in her legs  she came towards Dr. Desh his heart was pounding fast he felt it would pop out of his chest . Ammai gave one look at him , took his chin in her hand , lifted his face and was seeing him intensely .And then laughed aloud and she told everybody he has come back she looked up and said it again he has come back ,and turned away to go all were shocked what is the old women talking about .She was taken away very respectfully she turned back and looked at the  Doctor and told him to meet her in the night at the tribe’s temple.

 he said only Imlu and he tribe head can accompany him and she looked up at the sky and laughed again. 

Doctor was very hesitant ;he did not understand what was happening to him ,he had never seen this part of the world even in his wildest dream , then why was the old lady saying he has come back ,what did she mean by that  he was  going  deeper into some problem .his head started swirling he vomited he felt very sick .he was given medicine and told to rest as he had to visit Ammai in the night he needed to be alert. Around 11 pm the doctor is woken up by Imlu and he is taken to the tribe’s Temple .

Ammai has offered lots of fruits and some offerings to the Goddess .Ammai beckons him to come near him he walks very reluctantly towards her , even Imlu is walking with him as he will need to translate what she tells him . Ammai tells him 50 years ago he had come to this same place , he looks at her surprised as he is only 40 years of age .she looks at him quizzically  and tells him this life which he is in is his second life he has taken rebirth .Dr.Desh is not understanding anything .

Ammai  tells him the full story 50 years back a team of young Doctors had come  to this place at that time many many people were dying of diseases ,the doctors did their best they stayed in worst condition few of the doctors fell sick and died but they did not give up on us they treated us and stayed with us for three years five doctors had come four of them died due to the diseases   from the tribals one doctor who had fallen in love with the tribe head’s daughter was saved from the disease they loved each other a lot , whole ay the doctor would take care of the tribe and in the night under the moon and stars he would lie down next the river and wait for her ,she would come and whisper sweet things in his ears .

She loved him a lot she was Ammai’s elder sister she would tell her to keep a watch on their parents while she would go to meet her lover .The doctor promised he will never leave her and go back to his family but always remain with her and raise a big family of their own .this went on for many month they would meet near the river and make love and feel the the universe is showering its love on them .One day the girl realized she is pregnant with the doctor’s baby so she tells her lover about it he promises to talk to the tribal head and soon they get married .

Though her father was  not happy with her choice as he wanted her to marry their own tribe he agrees .Ammai looks at Dr. Desh  and asks him does he remember anything or did he feel anything when he saw that girl the other day .He replies in negative .She says after their marriage in few months her sister got labour pain and it was very difficult labour the baby was stuck the umbilical cord was around the baby so the doctor did not want to go with a normal deliver he prepare for a surgery  her parents were against it they were scared they will lose their daughter they told him not to do the surgery but seeing his wife in pain he went ahead and cut open her womb and before he knew it both his wife and the baby died . The whole tribe was wild with anger they threatened him .

The doctor was heartbroken and distraught.Ammai who was witness to all this incident and was very found of the doctor took him in the middle of the night to a far of place which she used to visit with her friends and hid him there and told him that he should slowly try to escape from there to his city .And she went back to her place Next day the tribes buried the dead daughter of the tribal head along with her baby.And they went to look for the Doctor .But could not find him .It was rumored he was either eaten by a wild animal or he went back to his family .So Ammai says as her sister loved the doctor and wanted him to always be with her , her soul has not got salvation till now she is waiting for her lover to be with her and her baby .And as her lover has taken a rebirth and come to this place she wants him to be with her forever and she will not rest till she gets his bones next to hers all these years only Ammai knew and could see her as she used to come and see her ask her about the doctor though Ammai new the magical chants she could not tell where her lover was whether he was dead or alive and if dead she could not have known where the bones are buried .

But now there is hope Dr. Desh can help them find the remains of the dead doctor through hypnosis or he should be ready to be killed by the ghost who is at present watching them and waiting to grab Dr. Desh . The doctor immediately falls on the feet of Ammai and tells her to help him get out of this place and he is ready to do whatever she asks him to do.

She tells him to go back to his dorm today with full protection and sleep well tomorrow she will come in the evening and they will start the hypnosis he should be able to tell where and how the doctor died and where are his bones .But todays night is very crucial she is constantly following him but can not come close to him  as  ,Ammai has poured some magic potion on him so before the effect goes she will come and start the hypnosis..Dr. Desh is a tired man now he curses the day he agreed to come to this place ,he lived a beautiful life in the city with his loving wife and two dogs now he is not sure wil he be able to see them again .Will he be able to answer Ammai’s questions or will the ghost devour him .He prays to lord and asks him to forgive him for the mistakes he might have committed in his life and if he is not able to go back to his family alive please take care of all the people he loves. And he falls asleep .Next day he is woken up and given  a meal but not allowed to take bath  .Ammai  starts her practice ,

she gives the doctor some drink and he fells calm and instructs him to close his eyes and just listen to her voice  .she tells him there will be some other voice also instructing him but he should not listen to that voices a he now knows the ghost voice he should only concentrate on her voice and answer her questions as he will not understand her language he will have to keenly pay attention to Imlu’s voice  and not even for a second pay attention to the ghost’s voice .

now the process starts Ammai asks him many question regarding his family and many other things till he goes into the deep condition of hypnosis now she asks him to remember his journey with the five people he had come to their village .He slowly answers her and she is happy he also describes the beauty of her sister and then he goes on to tell about his love for her how much he wanted to be with her live with her and die with her .Ammai asks him who stopped him from living a beautiful life with her he tells it was by his own mistake while operating on his wife she died and also his unborn baby ,then the tribals wanted to kill him 

.Ammai asks him to tell what happened when he was taken to a hide out where did he go from there did he go to his family in the city and break the promise given to his wife of never living her .for that he tells no he never wanted to go away from her .he had come in the morning to see his wife one last time when the whole village was crying for her someone came from behind and hit him on his head and then next when he got up he was very far from the remote village they had brought him to the present village where they were stationed for few days before coming to this remote village he tells he could see the mans face he was the guy who was supposed to marry her but could not as she was in love with him so that man dragged him out of their remote village and killed him and buried his body under the same community hall of the village which is in the outskirts ..

He had slept in that very hall and could hear voices of two young girl and boy laughing and  they had pulled his blanket ..Ammai tells him if taken there will he be able to show the exact place where he was buried ,so that the bones can be brought back and buried next to her sister’s body and she will get salvation and he will be free from the ghost he tell Ammai that he can help them. Then Ammai brings him out slowly and they know now how to stop the ghost from wondering around aimlessly for so many year waiting for her husband .Next day the tam pack their bags and few people including the heads close people and Imlu  take the team out of the village .but not before a warning that if he is not able to help then he will be brought back to feed the ghost .After a day long journey they reach the village  all seigh a breath of relief   ,All rest for the day .Next day all the people from the village collect to see the digging process all are waiting with hope the exact place where he was sleeping is shown to the diggers they did the whole day and exactly at 6 pm when he was killed they find the skeletal remains of the doctor .

Dr. Desh is overjoyed at last he is saved .they pick the bones very carefully and put it in a box again refilled the grave with flowers and prayer and thanked  Dr. Desh for helping and they released him . the team rested in a different house and that night Dr.Desh slept peacefully; he also dreamt about his wife and the dogs . Next day in the afternoon  they were keeping their luggage  in their van.They thanked the villagers for their support once again and Dr. Desh was about to sit in the van when he saw the ghost with her child and her husband who looked exactly like him he was stunned to see them and the resemblance to him .They smiled at him and waved out to him and he too waved out to them and smiled .
