Chapter 4Tony woke as the sky began to lighten. He was tempted to roll over and go back to sleep until he remembered that breakfast would only be available for an hour. Elves are early risers, apparently. Or the inn’s cook has other chores in the morning besides feeding the guests.
He rolled out of bed, shook Daniel awake, and then went down the hall to use the communal bathroom. After washing up and finger-brushing his teeth, he returned to the room to dress and wait while his brother did the same. Then they went down to the inn’s main room to eat. The food was edible—eggs, rashers of bacon, and slightly burned toast laid out on a serving table.
