The day finished at long last with no more teasing from the oh-so adored player. Emily breathed out a sigh of a relief as she was leaving the estate.
Despite the rumors that had started, and despite said rumors being the furthest they could be from the truth - well, Emily wasn’t the one throwing herself at the man, he was the one trying to earn her favors - Paul and Cecilia had been the only ones not to show her any kind of animosity during lunch, contrarily to the rest of the staff.
But while Cecilia hadn’t breached the subject at all, Paul had been slightly more vocal about it, “The housekeeper has been the young master’s personal maid for as long as I can remember. I still can’t help but wonder what brought up the change.”
That had been the only partial jab he shot at her.
