CHARLES'S POV:
"UNBELIEVABLE!"
"Charles, you're speeding again. Maybe you should slow down." Randolph warns somewhere in the back of my thoughts.
"I can't believe she did this! After I specifically told her to stay put!"
"She's not a pet, Charles. She's your mate. You can't order her around like that. Now, slow down!" Randolph pleads.
"Who the f**k asked you?" I snap back.
A deep growl rumbles within my head as I swerve in between a black Ford pickup truck and a red Mercedes Benz."Are you serious right now, Charles! You are so thick! You almost died the last time you were driving like this! What the hell is your problem?"
Flashes whip through my head from the moment I sniffed out the distinct smell of lavender and the scent of fear of my newfound mate at the park with the Salaquins to the time I found my twin brother's bite already sinking deep within Pearl's blood. Each time I think of losing Pearl, rage creeps through my veins like a sickening disease.
I should be happy now. I was lucky enough that Pearl's body fought it off with being half-witch, giving me time to claim her as mine. I should be happy that I got to f**k Pearl that night, and not Richard. I should also be glad to have the feeling, the complete bond of ruling my pack with my mate by my side, but I am not.
Should!
Should!
Should!
That's what's running through my head. I am still stuck with that rotten son of a b***h in my life. My twin brother conned his way into owning half of everything! He is sharing it all; My hotel and my pack, but the part that gets to me the most. The part that makes my skin crawl with jealousy is having Richard own half of my woman, my Luna, my f*****g mate! Every time I see him or every time I walk out the hotel door, all I can picture is Richard getting his grungy hands all over Pearl's pink n*****s and moist clit.
A tiny sweat bead drips down my temple. I feel it trickle down the side of my neck. I wipe it off with the palm of my hands while glaring at the oncoming traffic. My fist slams down on the steering wheel when the light turns red.
"Dammit!" I lashed out and hit the steering wheel with my fist.
Thanks to the f*****g red light, all I can do is wait now. I lean my head back on the headrest and take a breath. Closing my eyes, I do my best to calm down. Visions of Pearl's backed up against me with her bare ass and her exposed neck titled just so pop in my head.
"Mmmm, you smell good, Pearl."
I lean in and savor the sweet taste of her skin on my tongue. Pearl leans back and grabs onto my black suit jacket and moans when I hit her weak spot behind her ear.
"Mmm, Charles, I want you so bad."
"You do," I tease, and brush her soft curls away from her neck. I make promises with my tongue and lips down the center of her back.
"Yes. Yes, I do," Pearl pleads. God, I love hearing her beg.
"You're mine, Pearl. No one else's." I say while grabbing my c**k and bending her over the bed.
"All yours, Charles. Please, I want you so much," she begs and waits for me to give her everything I got.
"That's right, baby. All yours."
I shove my c**k inside her tight, wet hole and watch as Pearl's eyes bulge from the size. She grabs the sheets while I start to pump. This time it is going to be fast and hard. We both need a release.
A horn honks, bringing me back to reality. My lips snarl, remembering the whole ordeal was nothing more than a wet vision. The urge to claim Pearl takes over again. It's more of a need now. If I can get to Pearl, I know that I can prove to her that I am enough, she will stay where she belongs. She has no reason to leave the hotel room at night or even go searching for useless answers at Second Chance W&W. She needs me, that's all.
"Damn, this light!"
"Are you going to be okay?" Randolph asks with genuine concern.
"It's Pearl, Randolph." I snap.
"Well, duh."
"Duh?" I hiss, "How can you say duh at a time like this?"
"Look at the way you are acting. No pack member or employee would make you act like this. Only Richard or Pearl. Charles, I am your wolf. Don't try to hide your emotions from me. You know that can eventually cut off our link." Randolph warns.
"You're right, "I admit and look out at the traffic in the opposite lane going by. "I don't want that, Randolph. That would suck." I retake a breath and ease my grip off the steering wheel.
"Me neither, and hell yea it would. You know, I heard Richard did that to his wolf years ago."
"Yea, me too. What an idiot." I roll my eyes. Everything about Richard makes my skin crawl.
"That is what this is all about, isn't it, Charles? You are still jealous of Richard having a part of Pearl?"
I glare out the window. The truth is hard to swallow, but if I can't be honest with my wolf, then who?
"Yes, but it's not just that, Randolph." I finally admit.
"Come on, Charles. It's me you are speaking to." He says half teasing, "Is this over worrying that Pearl may want to have you both in bed? Like a twin fetish or something?"
I snarled through my clamped teeth." That's not funny, Randolph."
"I am sure she thought about it since that night. Do you have like twin c**k envy or something?" Randolph continues to tease.
"Richard's c**k is the same size as mine, asshole!"
"Actually, I think his c**k is a bit bigger than yours. Hmmm..." Randolph trails off like he's deep in thought.
"The size of his c**k means nothing to me, Randolph!" I yelled so loud the people in the car next to me look over and turn gasp.
"Oh, I am sure it doesn't, but to Pearl, I bet she daydreams of having...."
"Randolph, are you about done? I think I have heard from you for now." I say while smiling at the people next to me.
"Are you going to calm down yet?" He challenges.
"You do realize if Richard murders us, he will be the sole owner of everything, right?"
"Look, Charles, I know you are pissed off about Pearl leaving the hotel tonight and Richard still being in our lives, but you need to remember that you are the leading Alpha. You are her mate. Not Richard. Not some other f*****g ass off the street. She's yours now. Don't you know that by now? I mean, you were the one that got to seal the bond, not him. All he got to do was bite her, or did you forget? Hell, I thought you enjoyed the whole s*x part of it. I don't know... maybe I was wrong, though?"
"I didn't forget!" I growl, "Why is this light taking so f*****g long?"
"Then, what's the deal? Why are you acting like you are about to go off the deep end?"
"Because..."
"Because, why?"
The phone buzzes on the center console. I check once more to see if my luck has changed with the light, but no go. The bright red light stares at me, taunting and laughing.
"She's probably long gone by now. Where do you think she went?" I ask while checking the phone.
"I don't know, but I wonder why Jake is calling? We haven't heard from him all week."
I take another breath and decide to answer the phone.
"Hello."
"Hey, Charles. Got a second."
"A second?" I answer shortly. Our friendship is still on the mend since he helped Richard.
"What's up?" I ask, realizing the light finally turned green. I step on the gas, ready to find Pearl, hoping she hadn't made it too far.
"Maybe you should let Pearl have a night out?"
"No!"
"I am glad I don't do this s**t to Hekara. I'd be in the doghouse."
"Hey, Erik said you were heading this way to the Salaquin's Cove. Just a heads up, the packs are fighting again." Jake warns nervously.
"Jake sounds off again. It sounds like he is nervous. Do you want to go check it out, or should tell him you are going home to have a playdate with Pearl instead of helping the pack? That will go well." Randolph grumps.
"Go take a nap, Randolph!"
"Twin c**k envy!"
"I swear if you weren't my wolf!"
"Oh, but I am."
"Are you there, Charles?" Richard asks again, his voice trembling through the phone.
"I'm here, Jake."
"Okay, it was quiet, so I thought you hung up on me again." I can hear the remorse in his voice every time we speak. I know he wishes we can turn back time, but I can't, and neither can he.
"So, are you going to tell me why you sound like you're hiding something again?" I snip.
"Charles, I will never betray you again. You know I did that for my family."
"Your pack is your family too. Remember that." I warn coldly.
"Yes, sir."
"So, what's the deal, and know that no matter what you tell me," I warn again, "I will check this time.
"I understand."
"Then spill. What do you have to say?" I rush through traffic, trying my best to get home.
"I found out that Pearl has a family that is alive, and they are looking for her now that she has awoken."
