A Breath Of Fresh Air

Soon after, a young woman came into the tent carrying some woven made clothing. She was very beautiful with her short wavy mahogany brown hair, and her sandy colored eyes. She bowed respectfully. “Hello princess, I'm here to escort you to our lagoon." "Yes, thank you." I said gratefully "You can stop bowing now." I said in amusement, "And please call me Aura!" She giggled, standing back up. She walked out of the tent as I followed behind her. She led me through their village and into the forest. I watched as the children ran through the village playing games with each other. Goddess how I have missed this atmosphere. I could tell the girl leading me to the lagoon wanted to say something, but she held it back not wanting to anger me. "What's your name beautiful?" I asked her as we walked through the forest. She smiled and blushed, looking away. "Amira, princess." She was shy, kind of like me. "Amira, that's beautiful!" I praised. She blushed and smiled happily at my compliment. "Thank you princess." "Please, call me Aura." I demanded. She giggled and shook her head yes. We walked past Jericho and some men his age in the tribe. "Princess." He greeted with a smile. I smiled back, feeling the blush creep back onto my cheeks. Amira and I kept walking towards the lagoon. She led me around the thick foliage, and the beautiful crystal blue lagoon came into view. Thick steam hovered above the warm water. Goddess it was amazing. Amira handed me the garments she was carrying. “Would you like me to stay close by and wait for you?" "No, that's okay. I'll come and find everyone when I'm done." I said back nicely "Okay, Aura. Enjoy!" "Thank you, Amira." I said gratefully "It's my pleasure!" She was enthusiastic as she skipped back towards the village. I admired the lagoon and the landscape surrounding it. I took one last look around and made sure I was alone before I began to strip my dirty garments off. I stepped into the lagoon slowly, trying not to slip on the rocks. The water was warm to the touch. I sank underneath the water, refreshing myself completely. The bruises and lacerations I still had that didn't heal yet, were soothed by the warmth of the water. I began washing the dirt and negative energy off of me that I have had on me for years. I ignored the pain that came from washing my wounded body. I also avoided looking at the bruises and scars that covered my malnutritious body. They made me sad. A snap of a branch threw me from my thoughts, putting me on guard. My eyes flickered back and forth, searching for the culprit of the noise. "TAMA!" Jericho screamed out, stepping out into the clearing of the trees. I quickly covered my breast and sunk deeper into the water. Two younger boys that had to be at least thirteen or fourteen, popped out behind some rocks by the lagoon near me. Those fuckers have been watching me the whole time. They stood there in fear across the lagoon watching Jericho approach them. I smiled in amusement. This was gonna be good. "E iai se mea o tupu ia oe?!" Jericho yelled, slapping them both in the back of the head. I could t understand their language, but then again anybody who wasn’t from their tribe, couldn’t either. The boys just looked at the ground in shame and embarrassment. "Faatoese!" Jericho yelled angrily. "We are very sorry princess for spying on you." The boys said regretfully with their heads down. I snickered back in amusement, not being able to hold it in. "There will be no free show today boys." I sang. They both laughed at my joke, making Jericho growl and slap them both in the back of the head again. "Alu!" He yelled at them. They left quickly, walking around the edge of the lagoon. One of the boys stopped walking and turned around, looking at me. "You are very beautiful, princess." He blushed as he gave me a loving smile. Jericho growled sinisterly, causing some of the birds in the area to fly away. The boys ran off quickly, disappearing into the thick trees. I laughed hysterically. I think I really needed that. "I'm really sorry, Aura." Jericho apologized. "It's okay, I think I needed that." Jericho laughed, shaking his head at me. "I'm glad it cheered you up, but please don't encourage them next time." I laughed, knowing he was just jealous he didn’t get a free show. "Can't make any promises." I teased. He shook his head in amusement as he smiled at me. "I'm gonna be your lookout until you're done." "No need, I'm already done." I said back to him "Okay, I'll leave so you can get dressed." Jericho turned to leave, making me stop him. "Just close your eyes prude!" He laughed and turned around, not facing me. I got out of the lagoon and dried off. I held up the clothes that were given to me. It was a beautiful hand woven cream colored, ankle length dress with colorful flowers that covered it. It had spaghetti straps, so it showed a lot of skin. Well I guess there will be no hiding my scars. Goddess I don't need anybody's pity. I put the dress on and let it flow down my body. I rung the water out of my wet curls, and let them fall down my back. I approached Jericho as silently as I could and jumped onto his back. "You're a spider monkey now?" He laughed as his hands gripped the back of my thighs, holding me up. I wrapped my legs around his waist, feeling content with his touch. Bummer he wasn’t my mate. I mean I would know if he was, right? "Do I look like a spider monkey?” I giggled as he walked back towards the village. "Yes" He laughed. I flicked his ear, making him almost drop me. "You better not drop me!" "Then don't flick my ear!" He yelled back, making me laugh. I wrapped my arms around his neck, squeezing tightly. "Don't tell me what to do or I'll kill you." I whispered in his ear with my arms around his throat. He laughed, very unbothered by my actions. I loosened the grip around his neck and laid my head on his shoulders. I appreciated his kindness and the way he didn’t make me feel like I was damaged. "Thank you for not treating me like I'm damaged." I whispered "Of course, Aura. You're the strongest person I know." I stayed silent. It was nice for him to say that, but was it really true? I kissed him on his neck, feeling him shudder at my actions. I ignored it and laid my head on his shoulder. "Thank you." "Always, Aura." There was truth to his words.
