1. Night club

CHAPTER ONE “A double suite? Damn! Klein must really want you to get Kaden on the show,” Lucy said as she surveyed the room. It was lavish; one could almost say too extravagant. It was without a doubt Mrs. Klein must have blown quite the huge load of money to get it for us. Our suitcases had been rolled in by the La Gusto hotel staff who seemed to be actually pretty good-looking.   “Yeah,” I agreed, sitting down on the bed on the right side of the spacious room. Now I get why they call it Pleasure Island. I may have grown around a rich family but being here suddenly made me feel as if I was actually swimming in money. There was some sort of freedom feeling that came with being in this place and I loved it. Maybe it was the welcoming ambience or how almost everyone seemed to be really good-looking around here.   “Wait, have a look at this,” she rushed to my side, with two closed envelopes in her hand.   “What are those?” I questioned, eyebrow raised in suspicion.   “I found them on the night stand. Let me read,” she quickly tore one open to reveal a beautiful invite embossed in the most beautiful dark red graphics, her eyes immediately glowing as she read,” Dear Jasmine, as a premium guest to our island, we invite you to our exclusive night club; Indulgencia where all your dirtiest dreams come true, tonight at seven thirty. Make sure to show this invite the moment you get to the club. See you tonight. Lots of kinks, Vincent Garcia, owner of Indulgencia. Can you believe this? I’ve only heard of Indulgencia but never actually been there! Wait, here is my invite too. f**k! We are really in for a great first night. Oh my God! What do you think is going to happen? Will it be as kinky as they say? Because I have a whole list of things I want to try,” Did she just squeal?   “Trust me, I’m not interested in some kinky night club. I’m not here to have fun Lucy. I’m here to get that asshole to agree to run that morning show because I have worked so damn hard to be considered for that executive producer post and I’m not going to lose it at the last minute because of him. I can’t believe everything I’ve worked for now depends on that asshole, ” I pointed out, a yawn escaping my lips. It had been a f*****g eighteen hours flight and every muscle in my body was screaming for rest.   “Come on, don’t blow the fun. This is a once in a life time opportunity and this island is always fully booked. We’d probably have to wait a year or two to get another reservation and it will probably cost us our goddamn mansion. To be honest, I have no idea how Klein pulled it off, getting us a reservation within a week. Who cares anyway? We got in and I’m planning to use every second of my time here to get all my dirty dreams fulfilled and so are you,” she replied adamantly.   “Well, you can have your dreams fulfilled but after I take a bath and I’m fully rested, I plan on doing a full scout of this huge hotel so I can find out which room he is staying in. Trust me, the moment he says yes, I’m off to LA in the first available flight,” I said, trying to stifle yet another tired yawn.   “What? You can’t be serious. We have to make good use of our holiday while we’ve got the most epic opportunity,”   “Ain’t happening Lucy. You can go to whatever club that is but I have to find Kaden and talk him into getting into the show much to my annoyance,” I said.   “Are you sure even you are ready to see him yet?” She questioned, sitting next to me, her voice dropping into a soft tone.   “To be honest, no,” I sighed. I hated being here and I hated that it all had to do with that asshole. I hate that I had to face him again and I hated that I had to feel the pain he caused me all over again. I thought I had gotten over him and what he did to me but since last week after my meeting with Mrs. Klein, he had been all I had been thinking about.   “Then you need to loosen up. Let’s go get wild and then we can go find him together tomorrow,” she was really a sweet talker.   “I don’t know Lucy. I’ve never been one to loosen up before and you know that,” Dammit! Now I was considering her option. She was really such a smooth talker.   “I know. You are twenty four and I can’t even remember the last time you dressed up to go have some fun. Are you allergic to looking sexy and loosening up or something?” she questioned, standing up, raising her arms in the air before letting them fall on against her hip.   “I’m not allergic Lucy. I just don’t feel comfortable with this kind of stuff. That is your scene, not mine,” I pointed out the naked truth. Partying had always been her play while on the other I was not much of a character in it.   She pulled me to a standing position, her palms joined in mine as she stared into my eyes.   “When are you going to stop being so insecure Jaz? You have one of the most magazine cover worth faces and your body is super bangable even though you keeping hiding it under these prim clothes,”   “For starters, you know I hate it when you call me Jaz and second, I still do not want to go to that damn club. Why is it so important to you that I go to this club anyway? You’ve never been this aggressive before,” I narrowed my eyes in suspicion.   “Maybe because I’m worried you’ll never really put yourself out there enough to let your heart fall in love with someone. You’ve never had a boyfriend, never been kissed and I’m pretty sure you are still a virgin. Hot Tommy from work has been trying so damn hard to go out with you but you always have an excuse up your sleeve to turn him away from you. All you do is work every damn second and when you are not working, all you do is dream about work. Every time a guy approaches you, you just put them off without a second thought. I respect that you are your own woman and you are trying to build yourself but it doesn’t hurt to take a break and see what else this unpredictable world has to offer,” Now her talk was already inside my brain, twisting it.   “Fine, I’ll go but only for the drinks and once I’m drunk enough, I’m going to find Kaden. I bet it would be much easier to talk to him when I’m not sober without wanting to stab his damn heart,” I agreed reluctantly.   I had a pretty good feeling that this was definitely a bad idea.
