"Where do you think you're going, little princess?"
She stilled at the sound of his dark, threatening voice, allowing him to position himself behind her. A small gasp escaped her lips as his calloused hand wrapped around her neck, rousing an overwhelming amount of hunger she couldn't explain from within her.
"Do not test me, little one," he hissed irately into her ear, pressing his fingers onto her throat, "I will not hesitate to snap your little neck in half."
He pressed his stiff, plentiful inches into her soft body and she almost moaned. "Don't you ever think of putting your disgusting lips on mine again. I do not want you getting any wrong ideas, I only kiss you in public to get my father off my back and I am only doing this because we have to consummate our sham of a marriage." His clawed fingers run down her chest, hooking onto the bodice of her nightie and ripping it apart, leaving her a trembling mess, much to his delight.
"When we are done, you will return to your room immediately and we shall never speak about this night, is that clear, little wolf?"

Adelaide was only eighteen years old when she decided to defy her alpha king father and elope with a rival pack's beta's son, before she could be given to her betrothed; the Lycan prince; Larkien.
At twenty three, she is living in the human world, married to the love of her life, until she finds him in bed with another woman and decides to end the marriage. With nothing left for her in the human world, Adelaide decides to go back home, not knowing that her betrothed is still very much waiting for her or that she is pregnant with her ex- husband's child.
To honour the agreement, Adelaide is forced to marry and move to the Lycan king's palace and from the onset it is pretty evident that he wants nothing to do with her or the child she's carrying. And for the freedom she has unwittingly taken away from him, and for making him his last promise to his mate, king Larkien vows to make her the most miserable queen in existence- but his devotion to her misery is made difficult and their relationship is complicated when he discovers that she is the second- chance mate he never thought he would get.
Adelaide has to endure hatred and dislike not only coming from her lycan mate, but also from her supposed people; who hate her even more after rumours of her child not being the king's circulate.
Every single day in the lycan palace is torture and Adelaide, keen on keeping the baby, wishes for nothing more than to escape from the loveless marriage- but as much as he claims not to want her; king Larkien just refuses to let her go and appears to be strangely drawn to her, no matter how much he tries to avoid her.
Having to play the perfect couple in public and occasionally share the same bed; Adelaide eventually finds herself falling for the man who forces her to watch as he pleasures his favorite mistress in their very own bedroom. Despite her feelings, she accepts that her mate will never accept her and her baby.
With betrayal just around the corner and a very devious supposed to be ex- husband determined to cause chaos and get her back at all cost, and an undeniable attraction pulling Larkien to Adelaide, will the Lycan king keep his vow to make her his miserable queen or will he stop denying the mate bond and accept her and her child?

Here are a few disclaimers before you venture any further, my angels- This book is for mature audiences and strictly 18+, but do not get me wrong, it will not be saturated with smut. Sorry to disappoint.
I am not a native English speaker, but as much as English is not my first language and I continue to learn more and more each day: I always try my best to keep my writing at a good standard. My writing won't be perfect, I will make mistakes grammatically, misspellings, omissions.
2. This book will contain some triggering topics, including but not limited to emotional, psychological and verbal abuse, explicitly detailed murder and s*x.
3. I have never been a fan of werewolf books, and I have never actually read one, so I do know of the tropes and clichés and will not be following any established myths, rules or laws. I am going to give my spin on everything and allow my imagination to run wild, so I am not expecting anyone to tell me: "oh this is how it's supposed to happen, this is this way." Basing themselves on myths that are already established.
The story is a bit slow- paced and detailed at first, so please bear with me..
