“Oh, there you are, June. I thought I sensed you down here.” Asher walked into the room like a warm breeze, stopping me just before I took Quill’s hand.
“Were you looking for me?” I asked, dropping my hand.
“Yeah, I need you to go on patrol with me,” Asher said with a smile. “Are you busy?”
“We were just discussing a time to get to know each other better,” Quill answered for me.
“No, I’m not busy,” I quickly interjected. “But Ethan told me to take the day off.”
“You can have the day off if you want, or you can get some real action on patrol with me,” Asher said.
