"Autumn catches the most dangerous rogue..." I muttered angrily, covering my forehead with my hand as frustration surged within me. Maya stepped in, attempting to calm me down.

"I'm dead to my father!" I snapped, my voice laced with bitterness as I bit the inside of my cheek. "I'm sure he knows about it by now, and he'll probably act like it's my fault that she's trying to get my attention," I added, the anger coursing through my body unabated.
